Falling Leaves Lodge

I loved staying at Falling Leaves! Paula was so kind and made sure we had a comfortable stay. She was always in contact with the drivers who took us to our tours, and she made great suggestions for our trip. The property itself was so inviting and peaceful, I felt like we had our own oasis! The room was just what we were looking for - tons of space with a roomy bathroom and shower with great temperature control and water pressure. Their restaurant and the staff were very accommodating, and they made our stay very enjoyable. The Cahal Pech ruins are a two-minute walk from the hotel, which was very convenient and fun to go to. I highly recommend this for your stay in San Ignacio!

We stayed for 3 nights in mid May at the tail end of a heat wave. We had 2 king rooms SR3 & SR2 directly under the restaurant. With the ceiling fan and air conditioning running we barely heard a thing and it wasn't an issue. The property is as described on their website, comfortable and with very helpful and friendly staff. Always willing to help. They have recently opened a pool which is lovely to cool down at the end of the day (but there isn't any real shade down there if going earlier in the day). Definitely order breakfast the night before because their restaurant works via a que system so if you get behind other orders it is slower than typical service (in my opinion). We ordered an appetizer one night, put our dinner orders in at the same time then realized the appetizer wasn't enough for the 4 of us. We asked for another one and were told it would come after the dinners. This was for ceviche, something you scoop on a plate, so not the most efficient system. If we were in the area we'd stay here again. Note the hill up is ridiculously steep. You won't be walking up or down, so don't be misled if that's your plan it won't work.

I had a very relaxing stay at the well-appointed lodging. The newly installed pool was a pleasant and welcomed surprise, especially since it wasn't listed at the time of booking. Upon arrival, guests are greeted and escorted to their rooms. The onsite restaurant and staff were wonderful, and despite the current expansion happening on the grounds, we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The eco-friendly toiletries provided were a nice touch. Conveniently located next to the Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve, which we were able to see from our room, is a nice stop, as the other sights are hours drive away. There are a few restaurants located within walking distance from the residence. However, please note that the walk down several steep streets to the downtown area is not easy, especially in the heat. It takes about 20 minutes, and requires a climb back up to the residence, so it's not suitable for everyone. If you prefer, you can take a cab from the welcome center to the downtown area for around $10 BZE.There are a few restaurants located within walking distance from the residence. Falling Leaves Lodge was a great place to stay! Christiana in the office was always helpful. We arranged our Tikal tour through Falling Leaves in advance. Great private tour and I am so glad that we chose to book through them. We had breakfast each morning at the lodge. One morning, we needed to leave super early, so we were able to pre-order breakfast and it was ready and hot the minute we stepped into the restaurant. In the evenings, we were tired from our tours and relaxed with a cold beer and dinner at Falling Leaves. Room was comfortable, air conditioning worked, food was good, staff was friendly and helpful ..... no need to go anywhere else!

This property was amazing. The staff provided help that I didn’t event think of. The location is on top of the hills so peaceful but close enough to go into town when desired. It’s walking distance from Cahal Pech and had a fantastic sunset. I would stay here again.

The staff at this resort are over the top welcoming. The room was clean, quiet and relaxing and a great value for the price.

Really great staff who went above and beyond to make our stay nice. They were in the process of making the pool area really nice! The pool looked refreshing but we didn't go in it. Cons: the room we stayed in was pretty small and rustic. But for the short time we were there, it was fine.

The staff and location was fantastic, right next to Cahal Pech and feeling like the middle of the jungle! Great breakfast before adventures and amazing evenings sipping wine by the pool. Can’t recommend this place enough! Don’t worry about distance from town, fun walk down, or cheap cab ride back.
