Afton House Inn

Great little Inn by the St. Croix River. Nice Valentines getaway. Room on the small side, comfortable bed.

Staff was friendly and professional. It was nice having restaurants on-site. We had a couple of problems when we were there but the staff corrected the problems fast.

Just the get away we needed. Close to shopping in Stillwater and Huson.

It’s a great place to spend with a romantic atmosphere. We enjoyed it quite rooms are different from one another. Spent two weekends in a row. Close to treasure island casino.

I love the semi private deck with private entrance. The room was super cute and jacuzzi was amazing. Next time tho, I will request some things and advise you to do the same. This was end of May, beginning of June. Weather is not too predictable and it was hotter than I anticipated. There was no air conditioning, which would have been fine because it got very cool overnight. But when we opened the window, there was no screen, and I didn’t want bugs flying in. No screen door on the deck either. And there was no fan. I was miserably hot unfortunately. I’m sure they had fans available, next time we will just ask. My experience wouldn’t stop me from coming back. This was just my kind of hotel :)

The Afton House Inn made our 10 year anniversary absolutely magical. The room exceeded our expectations, the staff was friendly and extremely helpful, and the food at the restaurant was amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone!

No elevator, scary staircase. Room was very cold when I arrived. Took a long time to heat up. Same with the hot water. The staff was friendly and the food was good but the management was poor. Even though we had room reservations we were not allowed to sit in the dining room! Instead, we were relegated to the bar, having to carry our plates and coffee through the crowded lobby and down Into the pub. Since we had dinner in the pub the night before, we were looking forward to breakfast in the beautiful dining room. It was supposed to come with the room. We won’t be going back.

If you're looking for a relaxed getaway, this is it! My husband and I came here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We loved the quaint feel of the hotel and town. Yet the historic aspect of the Inn blends well with a contemporary wine bar, restaurant and fine dining. You get the best of both worlds here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
