Residence Inn Columbia Northeast/Fort Jackson Area

I stayed at the Residence Inn Columbia for many nights and in multiple room types, and overall, it was a solid experience—especially for extended stays. My favorite room was the one-bedroom queen suite, which offered a separate living and sleeping area—great for added comfort and privacy. I also stayed in the two-bedroom suite, which was spacious and included an oven, a nice bonus if you plan to do more serious cooking. All rooms feature a full kitchen, which makes it easy to prepare your own meals. The gym is clean and well-equipped, and the daily breakfast was consistently good. Typical options included yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, as well as hot items like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and an assortment of breads and English muffins. My only minor complaint was the limited tea selection—they often ran out of decaf tea, although coffee was always available. I used the laundry room once—it worked fine, though I did need to grab extra quarters for the dryer. If you plan to do laundry, it’s more convenient to stay on the second floor, as that’s where the laundry area is located. Overall, I’d recommend this Residence Inn for travelers who value space, comfort, and the ability to cook their own meals. It’s especially great for longer stays or family trips where room to spread out matters. Housekeeping does not come everyday and people put trash in the hall because the trash cans in the room are small.

I needed some assistance with a couple of things and the employees were quick to respond. Specifically both Meagan abd Ke’le. They were also very friendly with a smile!! Breakfast was great too! Not just the usual scrambled eggs and grits. A great breakfast selection.

Rate a 5 I just wanted to take a moment to recognize the amazing service we received this morning from the person working the breakfast area—I believe her name was Pam. She was genuinely kind, welcoming, and always seemed to be in a great mood, even early in the morning! Pam made sure everything was clean, well-stocked, and fresh. She even took the time to check in with guests to see if anyone needed anything extra. It’s the little things—offering a smile, making more coffee when it ran out—that really make a difference during our stay. Starting the day with such a friendly face and thoughtful service truly set a positive tone for the rest of our trip. We genuinely appreciated it. Thank you, Pam!

Excellent customer service from everyone! Especially Ke’le!! My husband realized he misplaced his ear buds not long after we checked out. We called, and she located the ear buds and had them at the front desk within minutes. Thank you Ke’le!!

Staff were wonderful. That’s about where the good part ends.

Not the usual standard that I expect from the Bonvoy brand. The hotel smelled like a mix of boiled chicken and stale smoke. They cancelled my room for no reason but then put us in two separate rooms, not necessarily the worst outcome, but definitely an inconvenience, the staff were really good and accommodated us. Neighbors came home around midnight. The walls are too thin to really cancel any noise from people walking down the hall or in the next room so therefore I had a terrible night of sleep. Tried to use the laundry room One person took up all of the washers After walking all over the hotel to find the place and get money to use the machine. Frustrating. We are not going back

Flat pillows, uncomfortable. Sofa bed very thin and uncomfortable. We did not sleep well. One of the pillows did not have pillow case. Not enough linens for the 4 of us. Noisy machine (AC?) outside woke us up in the middle of the night. Will not stay here again.

Everything was on point. Front desk was very helpful.
