For the price I paid the accommodations were not worth it. Beds were terrible and the bathroom was so small. Shower didn’t work well.

Pool was closed a couple of times. No welcome package as in past. No food options within the hotel.

Expensive area and this property was very expensive to stay at. We expected more. Huge window AC units taking up space in the rooms, no daily housekeeping (our towels were soaked from daily use after 4 days and from use at the pool), we ran out of washcloths, the pool radio played outside our room until 1am (we had to ask several times for it to be turned off and it was turned back on before 8am), all the ice machines were broken. Our shower leaked all over all bathroom floor. None of our locks in our suite worked. We had no spots to put our suitcases. Ok yes it was a nice area and yes the pool is nice. Would I stay here again? No.

Interestingly, when I booked this week last year, we were informed the 2 BR townhouse with or without balcony was not available this week. Imagine my surprise when we were assigned a townhouse with water view balcony. Unfortunately, a construction project has been going on for months across the street. There are multiple generators running all night. Thankfully, I had earplugs and the kids were unbothered by the noise. If you are a light sleeper, consider asking for a switch to a main building unit if possible. I did ask for a fan which was provided due to the strong cleaner/deodorizer used in the unit, and was considering using for white noise if the machinery noise was too loud. I hope the project is completed within in the next year! Speaking of projects, the pool renovation was completed and there is now new indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs. The giant outdoor hot tub was a great idea as previously the outdoor tub would be monopolized by small groups. The location and size of the wall connecting the tub to the pool lends itself to kids and teens jumping despite obvious safety risks & even parental presence. One kid even dove in when the deepest end is barely 6’ in one spot. Not cool. I wish the ledge was not so tempting. Otherwise, our pool experiences were great. In fact, we liked the large rectangular pool - the lighting was cool at night and the pool was perfectly heated. Our unit was as usual, no complaints. The washer/dryer remains a fave feature. The full size hygiene products are a great addition! No xtra TP provided, but maybe trying to reduce overuse or theft by requiring you ask when needed. We had no trouble receiving any items needed in a timely fashion. The arcade now has food supplies that can be selected and paid for with credit card like a self-serve mart. Friendly staff. I like the lawn & garden renovation & was glad the bunnies returned. Hot tubs, pools, fitness center, movie theatre, activities, and proximity to shops & restaurants make Long Wharf Resorts a great family resort.

We were not informed at check-in that A/C had been on the blink all week. 85 degrees F in our unit at one point! Knew something was up when we noticed portable a/c units and fans, which were cumbersome with 2 toddlers in the room. Staff admitted ongoing problem “being dealt with” but didn’t offer much relief, besides occasional reboot of system. After multiple complaints, I was reimbursed half the cost of my stay, but still not satisfied.

Hotel overbooked and told me we would have to find a new place to stay upon arrival. After explaining that it is difficult to find a room to accommodate my family of 6 without prior arrangements, the hotel said they had a cancellation and provided us a room. It happened to be in a separate part of the hotel (some sort of apartment or condo area) and it was very old, dirty and the hallway had doors/ceiling tiles that had been busted in. We went back to the office and asked to speak to a manager- but there was no manager on site. After going back and forth for about 20 minutes, they found us a room in the main hotel which was what we were expecting. I’ve never had such a difficult time checking into a hotel ever.

My family of 5 had a reservation (and it was already paid for through Expedia before we arrived!) for July 4th Weekend. When we tried to check in, they told us that they were oversold and an owner took our unit. They would NOT help us find another hotel and gave us a number to call (who tried to put us up at a Motel 6). No sympathy for the 3 young children they had just displaced. Needless to say it was next to impossible to find a new room (2 rooms actually, as we are a family of 5... the entire reason we booked a 2 bedroom suite) in Newport on the 4th of July. They were rude and just awful and I would never attempt to stay at a Wyndham again because apparently they can just cancel your reservation even though you paid for your room.
