Great buffet and friendly service

Sunday night buffet night it was amazing beef lamb pork yorkshire pudding chips wedges mac cheese roast potato roast beetroot salads galore, deserts went on and on. Even reduced for seniors. Complements to cook.. Great friendly staff.

Last years buffet was the best in town , always fresh and fabulous variety. Last night's buffet was dissapointing to say the least , it was lacking in variety , no soup or bread rolls, no salad dressing , salad bar was very sad and boring , one plate per person . The old buffet we had a plate for our hot food and a new plate for salads , dessert was 3 little cakes , no icecream or custard or cream . What happened to the old buffet that we used to have at the overland ? Staff were not friendly at all . $32 is a waste of money . Go to Paddy's for dinner or The Palace . DON'T GO TO THE OVERLAND

The executive rooms are similar to the basic room, only a little larger, a little more modern and has a microwave. The room was comfortable and clean. The buffet restaurant is okay and has a good basic range of nice meals. The staff a nice and friendly and supply prompt service.

The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The door on the bathroom has been removed, so if the light bothers you in the morning, you won't like this. Lots of tradies staying, which is great, but keep in mind, they have to leave early for work. Any time after 0430. However, the cherry on the top for us - as we were enjoying our cup of coffee and cigarette, the guy going around emptying the bins at around 0600 loundly expressed "F%cking smokers". When I last checked, smoking cigarettes is not against the law, nor is it against the rules of the motel.

When booked a quite room was requested. Put in room by swimming pool!! Our car is to be parked in large open car park not near us. Lots of vehicles leaving between about 4 am & 5am all driving their disel 4x4 past our door grrr. Finally able to get to sleep about 5.30 then at 5.45 loud noise outside....the lawns around to pool are being whipper snipped, then he uses a blower vacuum....try to sleep again and bugger me about 5 mins later he mows the lawm !!! And you guessed it he then uses the blower vac again. Next its the housemaids trolleys clattering across the car park at 6.30??? So much for a quiet room. No spare power points for charging mobile etc. Microwave provided but only cups, saucers and teaspoons. No door on bathroom so room super bright from dawn.
