Kalgoorlie Overland Motel

Very good spacious rooms. Lovely helpful and friendly staff. A lot of noise when people were getting in and out a van with bags and slamming doors for 45min outside our windows at 4am. But not really the sites fault.

The only thing I would have to complain about is the shower was a bit dark, needs some sort of lightning maybe a bit closer to the shower.

From the outside this hotel looks pleasant and clean. Reception staff Would benefit from a course on how to greet and speak to customers. The inside of the rooms has been painted however the bathroom is from the sixties and the mattress on the single bed was so old it actually made a disintegrating noise of the fibers breaking down each time you moved. One of the most expensive hotels in town. We were booked for two nights but checked out after the first night as I could not sleep on that bed again. When we checked out, I briefly explained why and the receptionist was totally disinterested and replied ok and went back to what she was reading.

The service was good. The location is good. The rooms are big and clean. But the aircon was located in the wrong place. And only 1 for the 2 rooms. So 1 room did not cool even after 4 hours of running the aircon on full. We had to move the beds in 1 room and sleep together.as it was really hot.

Rooms were clean and tidy. Nothing fancy, just basic. Beds were comfy and shower was good too. Pool was nice, just swam once. Again, nothing fancy, but clean and well maintained.

Saturday buffet before early return to Perth. Good selection of items and friendly service. Recommended if you don’t have access to a staff canteen on the Goldfields. Website lists various theme nights.
