Kanko Ryokan Yamato

Very good view over Ikoma and Nara, classic ryokan style room, very friendly hosts, nice hot baths, super close to the cable car, close to beautiful shrine.

Rooms can be a little noisy when neighbours are audible

It's my second time in this lovely ryokan. I love it all : the comfortable room and baths, the amazing view and of course, the kindness of the hosts. It is such a wonderful experience to stay there and walk to Hozan-ji temple at night.

Kanko Ryokan is absolutely lovely. A traditional inn on a mountaintop with spectacular view. The tram ride up is fun, very Miyazaki :) Cozy and immaculate. Eiko and her mom and 2 poodles were welcoming and helpful. The private onsen was HOT and relaxing. Breakfast was a visual and tasty delight. Ikoma is a cool little hidden gem and the temple just above is magnificent and well worth a visit. It was my last night in Japan and I took the train from there to Osaka airport, very convenient. I hope to return and would recommend it to any traveller.

The staff was very kind, and everything in the room and surroundings made me feel the authentic experience I was looking for.

Nothing, it was perfect

Favorite place we've stayed at so far on our trip. The view was beautiful, bath was exceptional and clean, and the food and room amenities were great. The ladies there were the sweetest and its obvious they work very hard. Its a bit a way away but not hard to get to.

Super vriendelijke mensen en een top Japans ontbijt. Ik was er 4 nachten en kreeg iedere dag iets anders en het was altijd heerlijk! Fijne kamer en douches.

Het is een erg mooie omgeving maar als je moeite hebt met trappen lopen zou ik hier niet naartoe gaan. Er is ook niet heel veel te beleven. Alles bij elkaar ben je van hieruit wel een uurtje onderweg naar Osaka.

The highlight of my week in japan — a beautiful, peaceful place with stunning views, friendly staff, and an amazing onsen. Highly recommend getting the breakfast option as well. I would recommend staying here to anyone in the area.
