This ryokan was amazing! We absolutely loved our room with the nice view, the onsen was wonderful and the town/area around was beautiful. The breakfast and staff are also amazing! We hope to return soon!

"Welcoming and unique traditional Ryokan in an interesting location. Highly recommend."

10.0

Intriguing location, welcoming and accommodating hosts (you're treated like family from the off), good facilities- lovely baths in particular, and delicious fresh breakfast daily. The view from the room is spectacular. Make time to walk up and see the beautiful Hozan-ji temple further up the mountain. It's a spectacular, spiritual place with magnificent views over the city.

The location might not be for everyone, it's a short cable-car ride or 20 minute steep stair-climb from Ikoma Station. I personally found it a novel and interesting area in its own right, and enjoyed the access you have to Nara/Osaka/Kyoto from Ikoma station. The remoteness of the Ryokan made a nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of cities and busy tourist sites.

Everything, staff was really welcoming, breakfast was fantastic, bath was really good, location while slightly far from any city center was located really close to the cable cart.

"The calmness after the storm, this is how it felt"

The breakfast was so beautiful and displayed in a way that fills your heart with joy; it was also tasty.

I have an issue at my knee, so climbing stairs was a bit tedious, but everything was magical.

"Authentic ryokan experience"

10.0

A traditional ryokan in the most authentic location. An easy walk from the local train, and well situate for a trip to the local temple, which is well worth a visit. The host was most friendly, and a very wonderful person. The onsen is great and has easy to follow instructions for tourists available. The view over the city at night was truly marvelous. We extended our stay.

"Calm and beautiful, with an exceptional view of the neighboring cities"

10.0

The ryokan was by far one of the high points of our trip. The staff was extremely helpful and kind, explaining everything in nearly perfect english. The ryokan also has a private bath that I was able to experience with my wife. The location is beautiful and calm, and I recommend waking up early and climbing the stairs to temple.

"Great ryokan experience"

10.0

A great place to spend your day away from big cities and sights flooded with tourists. This is a ryokan so you get a nice futon bed, tatami floor, yukatas. The view from our room was great! We’ve also ordered a delicious Japanese style breakfast. The public bath is actually two rooms that have a lock, so you could go inside with your family together. This was very nice for me because I’ve been traveling with my partner and a 1,5y son. The area is quiet and nice. There is a temple you need to go uphill. The area is mountainous with lots of stairs. You take the cable car to get there. Keep in mind that there are no supermarkets there, you need to go down by cable car to Ikoma. But there are some restaurants and cafes so you won’t get hungry. I think it’s even more beautiful in fall, you can enjoy momiji. We’ve stayed in late March and the weather was not the best, like 10-15 C. So we’ve used a heater in the room and in the bath. Don’t hesitate to ask the owner to show you how to use it

Wifi connection is not the best, but the hosts did install a repeater so it was better, but do not expect high speed
