Skamania Lodge

For the price point and being a paying overnight customer, we were surprised there was a parking fee of $16.50. We had been here before and didn't pay a parking fee - I mean it's out in the middle of nowhere and they claim a lot of people get dropped off. Really? I highly doubt that. For the few that get dropped off, you're willing to piss off the bigger majority of your clientele? Also, when you look in your reservation cart, it claims all taxes and fees are included (not!). We don't mind paying extra for parking, but only if it's secure and has cameras (neither of those exist). We had mechanical noises in the attic/wall that the maintenance crew couldn't figure out, so we moved rooms to a downgrade which we didn't receive full compensation for. They did remove the $16.50 parking fee for our inconvenience. While they provide some coffee in the room, it came with cheap powdered creamer instead of capsules of real half & half or International Delight (or similar). There was hair in the bathtub drain, so the cleaning was not up to par. Again, for the price point, we expected better. The view of gorge is very nice and the bed was comfortable. We did not eat at the lodge so can't comment on the price & quality of the food offered there. We also did not use the pool or hot tub. We won't return.

The Lodge is a lovely place to have a birthday party. Wonderful views even on a gray misty day. Clean, comfortable bur Lodge is in need of updating as it is looking worn. Grounds were in good condition. Parking was easy. Staff was exceptional with front desk help and dining experiences.

The bathroom garbage was not emptied. In between the two shower doors at the hinge which is near the opening of the doors was grossly dirty. A toothbrush would have did the trick. The window was also filthy. I was hesitant to even sleep in the bed. I would have thought that a top notch place would have cleaned the room thoroughly, especially with the amount we paid. Disappointing. That being said the Cascade Dining Hall had great service and delicious food.

Great location. Food is overpriced, and service is adequate at best. Bathrooms are out of date and shower felt cheap (and the showerhead was horrible) even in a suite. The lodge is beautiful and the lodge staff (other than the Cascade Restaurant) are kind and accomodating. Given that it has a lot to offer in the way of atmosphere and surroundings, I would expect a better dining options (both high end and better grab and go / snacks) and I would expect the rooms to get regular refreshes.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at! The bed was an absolute dream. The hot tub outside is so relaxing. Restaurant served amazing food, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great experience, friendly and attentive staff. Clean and peaceful getaway. This is my 6th time here, mainly for work conference and once with my wife and kids for just a family weekend getaway. It is always a great experience with beautiful views.

We stayed just one night but wished we had more time at Skamania on a PNW vacation from Chicago. The property was absolutely stunning and the pool/hot tub was a favorite for our whole family. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!
