Skamania Lodge

The location is amazing, and the property is beautiful, but it needs to be maintained a little better. On the other hand, staff was wonderful and quick to respond to questions and concerns.

Our E-bikes were stolen and the Skamania Lodge was no help! No cameras in parking lots and the parking lot we were directed to use had no signage at all! Beware take anything of value to your !room

tl;dr: Staying in a treehouse for a romantic relaxing couples getaway didn't really deliver so I feel I overpaid for what I got out of it. That said, it's still gorgeous and comfortable and inviting. Stayed in a tree house for 2 nights. Dined at Cascade one evening. Was aiming for a relaxing couples getaway in the woods. Didn't quite fit the bill for that. Everything was beautiful, clean, comfortable. But the environment didn't fit the bill. Hanging in the lodge living room or just outside is very beautiful, there are plenty of games you can borrow. And you can get drinks from the bar and take them anywhere on the property. There are also lots of kids playing, which is great for families with kids, but that's not what we were there for. So overall, when looking to relax with just your partner I didn't find the lodge very appealing. The other option was to hang at the tree house, which means sitting inside and watching TV or sitting on the balcony and looking at "nature". Yes there are trees all around, but the other tree houses are in view (though not their balconies) or the road is in view or green areas with kids playing are in view (and earshot). It's sort of an abbreviated wilderness. There were some birds flying around and I enjoyed watching them, but because it's still so embedded in activity from humans, it didn't feel like much more than sitting in a backyard. Which I can do at home and I do enjoy but it's free. We stayed in an Alder tree house (Huckleberry) and I did notice two of the others had balconies that basically faced the road which would have made me very angry. So while the lodge was a bit overstimulating, the treehouse was sort of understimulating. This is all with a point of view of being a relaxing maybe romantic couples getaway. If that's not your goal then maybe you like what you're reading and that's great! The food at Cascade was tasty but I was expecting more based on the prices, whether more quantity or more quality, either would be fine. But nothing blew me away. I suppose there's payment in there for the scenery. If that's the case, maybe overnight guests should get a small discount since they're already paying for the scenery. Every single staff we spoke to was so warm and friendly. I assume they love their job and I hope they're treated well, because I truly felt like they cared. A few quick things: -The bed was very comfortable -Heated bathroom floors are excellent -Huge wonderful shower -Private firepit was awesome -There is only a low outdoor coffee table at the treehouse, nowhere for a puzzle or to easily eat food from -Most chairs in the lodge and treehouse have arms, while they're fairly wide this still makes for an uncomfortable seat if you're in a bigger body -The door to the outside in the lodge living room is not accessible, I saw two different people in wheelchairs have problems getting outside. I love that there were bellhops opening the front doors for people, but how bout for folks to go out to the view?

Had a great stay and experience. We originally wanted to tour around the gorge, but didn't even bother. So many things to see and do at the lodge, for both adults and kids. We enjoyed our stay. Thanka for the great experience!

We ate Easter brunch here probably 10 years ago. It was fantastic. We went back for Easter brunch this year. The food was bland, and nothing special. Shrimp was dried out , scalloped potatoes were bland, sausage links were barely warm, salad options were not much. They served prime rib,ham, and leg of lamb. The prime rib was done thru out and it appeased to be cut in half as it was square and very fatty. They made a steelhead chowder but no bowls. The most disappointing to me was deserts. Last time they had many choices of cakes,pies, tarts, and much more. This year there were 4 things and they all appeared to come from a venders box. They gad a cookie, a small premade tart, and a haystack round cookie. They had a sign for a lemon dedert but it wasn’t there. Over all I felt as most food was either all ready prepared or thrown together. For $75 each and 3% surcharge, and a drink it was over $100 per person without tip. I was looking forward to this trip and ended up very disappointed.

Our stay was a wonderful peaceful way to celebrate my daughter on her birthday as she navigates a very challenging season in life. We loved the incredible views, homey rooms, and amazing food. The staff was very welcoming and friendly as well. We'll be back again and highly recommend this quiet retreat.

Breakfast on the go since it was Easter.

Just a recommendation- for the easter egg hunt, they should section off the area for little children so the bigger kids and adults cannot enter. There were several kids that did not listen and took eggs for the littles and several parents that were scooping up the eggs for their younger children instead of letting the children do it so I feel it took away from other children that were out their for the experience and not to find one of the 25 special eggs. My grandsons did it the right way and used the trail and both ended up with a special egg which was nice to see following directions paid off for them.

This was our 4th time here. What a special area of the country this is. Skamania Lodge is a must-stay for families, couples and I have even done business conferences there and they nail it!

What a great find! We stayed at Skamania while on a PNW road trip. Stopped on the Columbia River Gorge to explore the waterfall hikes and Skamania was perfect! We stayed in one of the tree houses. The grounds are beautiful, the restaurants on property so convenient and very good. There is so much to do here for the whole family - zip line, forest fitness path, hiking, biking, water sports and the area provides for so much amazing exploring. Definitely worth a visit!
