Oatlands Park Hotel

I booked us 2 nights here as a little treat for my husband. The location of the hotel is stunning and upon arrival we were given an upgraded room which we were thankful for. The room itself was very large and sparsely furnished, the shower was in the bath whic was a disappointment because thr room i had booked advertised a walk in shower (needed due to my husbands hip replacement surgery) The housekeeping was pretty dreadful, our room was serviced with the bed being tidied but the used coffee cups were not replaced nor was the one used drinking glass!!! Breakfast was buffet style and not very pleasant, it was tepid to say the least and the choice wasn't that good. We dined in the restaurant one of the nights and while the food was ok the service was a bit hit and miss - what was off putting is that waiting staff were busy preparing the tables for the next morning's breakfast service. The stay was ok however I have stayed in much better run 4 star hotels.......would I return........probably not, the finer points were missing.

Restaurant is not what one had expected

We had to change room as the air con was not working in the room that we were in. The hotel was flexible and changed our room upon request fairly quickly.

The there was a dry dead fly by the window which had been there for sometime. In addition stains on the velvet sofa was questionable.

I previously reviewed this hotel after our last visit, this time I wondered would it be as good? First to reception a warm greeting and genuine smile also an upgrade😄the room was huge , beautifully clean and so comfortable., thank you. The restaurant was as always exceptional, the food equalled the impeccable service . The staff were professional, polite and friendly as last time and we were remembered by some of the, which was really nice.was it as good as last time , no it was better and we can’t wait to go back. The hotel is beautiful, perfect for a relaxing few days and the staff are the best .

Bed was confortable, grounds are nice, plenty of parking.

Very beaten, battered and tired throughout. Musty curtains and damaged walls everywhere. Tired, dirty carpets. 'Executive' room with 'larger double bed' wasn't larger at all. No fridge. Didn't feel 4 star at all.

Perfect location for our visit.

View from our room & pillows like straw. Perhaps they should be changed more frequently? Otherwise good.We had dinner in the restaurant, which was very lovely.
