Stained carpets in room. I paid a three figure price for a room with a dilapidated carpet

Disappointed overall. Involuntary downgrade to smaller room (602) despite booking “King Privilege” room almost one year prior, then gaslight by reception that rooms were the same. No working AC in room which stayed at 24-25 degrees for 4 days. Poor communication from staff about malfunctioning lifts requiring 20 mins of me hauling luggage around hotel on arrival and eventually up the stairs. Issues with key card. Bar had run out of 2 different beers and glasses on Saturday evening. Just too many problems. On the positive side, great location for the Crucible and staff did try to compensate by adding complimentary breakfast for duration of stay (did not utilise as I rarely eat hotel breakfast). Some additional staff training and functioning air conditioning in room would work wonders but, as is, would not return. 5/10.

The Breakfast is Terrible and lukewarm. I needed a steak knife to cut the rashers. The other items were not fresh and were most likely reheated and likely made a day or two in advance. The beans were tasteless telling me that the cheapest of the cheap were used. The juce was like water. This Hotel is rated 5 stars and is expensive to stay in so there is no excuse to be using cheap reheated products. We have had better breakfasts in a 1 star. There was also a problem with the wifi that reception did not resolve. We travel to the snooker every year but this is enough to put us off staying here again. Not worth it for the price. I'm not sure that the managenent know what a 5 star Hotel means. We were given no information about the wifi code or a code for the door to get into the pool area. We also got no information on how to get a towel to use at the pool area. It should be standered practice when checking in to give you this information. 5 stars dosen't seem to mean much here.

Serve quality fresh food for breakfast that's cooked on the day of cunsumtion and not reheated cheap food to your customers. You are 5 star hotel so act like it.
