Difficult to get in on our stay as building works at the front day so route in was not easy to access at night

Location, staff & cleanliness of the rooms was excellent. Staff were really helpful and was brilliant and getting our rooms as we requested.

The Spa facilities weren't fully available. The sauna & aroma room were out of order leaving just the pool & steam room which was incredibly busy. The facilities were very dated and considering the price of this hotel is high in comparison. It felt like the quality of a Premier Inn but with a Premier price tag just because of the pool. Our room did not have any shower gel in the shower dispenser. There was only 1 biscuit for the 2 of us sharing our room and despite a total of 17 hot drink options in our room, there was only 2 milks so I'm not sure who is enjoying their morning drinks. Only 1 lift was working which took forever, especially at check out time and a couple of our party members had physical restrictions meaning they were unable to take the stairs however, they do not want to take accessible rooms from other people who need them. This wouldn't have been an issue if the other lift was working. Between us we paid nearly £800 for 1 night stay and I do not feel like it was worth the money. I have always used this hotel but I feel so embarrassed that i recommended this hotel to my friends & family for my Hen Doo that they saved up all year for, only to be met with the poor facilities. Needless to say I shall be looking for an alternative option for my next visit.

Try to phone reception for disability access on arrival , but there was no reply. Access bell was not working on entry gate either, so we had to wait some time before going into the hotel. Staff were very helpful.

The breakfast is first rate.

There was no basics in the room like water and toothbrush. I paid £8 at 1am for a toothbrush from the vending machine. For a chain like Mecure I would expect this as a basic, and drinking water. The pillows were like rocks and made sleep impossible. There was a wedding party and a conference on my floor so it was super noisy. Would expect to be placed elsewhere with that going on. There was only one lift working and with the conference and wedding actually using it was almost impossible.

Elisabeth did a great job during my stay. She was always professional, friendly, and smiling. She made everything easy and pleasant, and her positive attitude was really appreciated. Thank you, Elisabeth, for your hard work and excellent service.

From walking into reception the staff greeted us straightaway, very polite and professional. They explained our day to us. We then proceeded to the natural spa for our full body massage, mine was done by Lucy. Lucy was terrific I did not want my massage to end! We then entered the pool and sauna, steam and igloo rooms which were nice and clean and not over crowded. Following this we came the restaurant for our lunch and the manager Renata who served us and was lovely and really looked after us.

Booked an indulgence day spa experience at Natural Spa. Falstaff and Lucy were brilliant at providing relaxing massage. Then went into the sauna, ice room, steam room and finished with a swim Would definitely recommend the Spa at the Mecure
