Hotel Zentrum

The hotel is in a great location, but it has the feel of a hostel. The staff was not very accommodating and the breakfast was not very good

Hotel location is very central, next to the Zeil. The only disadvantage is that it is still undergoing renovations ... something which has been going on for a long time now!

I very much enjoyed my three nights stay at the Zentrum and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The hotel as gone for an industrial décor with exposed ventilation pipework in reception, metal chain curtain in the restaurant, old cinema seats in the lounge and desk laps for ceiling laps. The road it sits in is used as a drag strip by motorbikes and supercars at dusk. The only negative is lack of air conditioning in the rooms but this is offset by the free afternoon tea and cake.

The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation and it probably shouldn't be operating as a hotel in the present condition. Our bathroom overflowed after the first shower because the drain was clogged, probably from dirt, there were wires hanging from the ceiling, the paints were unfinished in places, the WiFi got disconnected from time to time and every time one needs to get a new password from the reception for each device, which was inconvenient. The hotel has a lot of potential because of the location and the kind of renovation they are doing, the staff is also helpful, but I haven't ever stayed in any hotel room that was in such a stage of renovation and I wouldn't have booked it if I knew beforehand that they were charging us quite a large amount (comparable to prices of US 3-4 star hotels) for a work that is far from ready to be rented out.

I have been staying at this hotel for close to 8yrs. The stays have always being brilliant. But this time I had the single room which was ok but the bathroom was a nightmare. The bathroom was badly conceived, erroneously designed and executed with everything in mind except comfort. On the good side, the hotel personnel as usual very friendly and helpful, cake is always delicious and breakfast is nice way to start the day.... Experience may defer if you get or book a double room.

Very good and central location, but hotel amenities are very basic. Hotel is undergoing renovation now, so it looks a bit beaten. All in all good value for the money.

This hotel is in a great location with friendly staff and the best breakfast buffet! My only complaint was that I had trouble getting my quilt covering right as I was hot during the night but that is a personal thing. The hotel is currently renovating the upper levels so it will only be better in the future!! Definitely recommend this hotel!

This hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to some very nice museums and restaurants. Plenty of shopping and right off the S train. Breakfast was good and the staff very helpful at check in. Sadly the rooms are in pretty rough shape and the cleaning staff doesn't do a great job turning them over between guests. I stayed in Room 24 and it had quite a funky smell. The carpets are stained and and trim around the door in the bathroom was starting to decay a bit. Bed was comfortable enough but looking around the room I just didn't have a great feeling about the cleanliness of the bed. In the bathroom and bedroom I found items left behind by the last guest. Mostly trash like receipts and empty styling gel container but still. How comfortable does that make me feel that housekeeping is doing their job well? In the end I only stayed the one night. The location is very nice but for the price I expected a lot more. I know they are doing renovations so I they may refresh this into a nice hotel but for now I would recommend staying somewhere else. They are charging for the hotel they are building not the hotel they have.

The Hotel is going through renovation, it will be very pleasant once it's finished. The Hotel is hidden from the searching eye... the entrance, an elevator, is tucked inside a shopping passage... just as well we arrived with a taxi,the driver knew to take us without too many explanations...just gave him the name. The staff couldn't be nicer even if tried... helpful and accommodating. Coffee and cake were there for the guests to enjoy at no extra cost. WiFi somewhat problematic in the rooms but strong at the reception area, where upon the breakfast is served too, and very good! All in all... pleasing!
