Palacio Urgoiti

Overlooking Bilbao, this is a great hotel that we use on our way back to the UK if we have an early ferry. Easy to park, great facilities, friendly staff and great food. Also 'dog-friendly' which few hotels in Spain are. Only a 10 min drive into Bilbao. We have stayed here several times and are never disappointed.

Room was large with a lovely view. The food was excellent in the bistro however didn't try the restaurant as too quiet. Beautiful communal areas and lovely building with free parking. Liked being out of the city but easily driveable.

The rooms were large but parts of the hotel could do with some modernisation, such as the lifts. We chose the hotel because of the pictures of the beautiful grounds but then when we asked about where we could walk around the hotel, we were told that we couldn’t because we could disrupt the golfers. We would have to drive 5 minutes down the road to a nearby estate and walk there! We did however enjoy the pool and the dinner in the bistro was excellent.

A one night stay before an early morning ferry. What a shame it wasn't longer! A really special place to stay and a great bistro with tapas style food. (Hotel also has a fine dining restaurant).

This is a nice hotel conveniently located at 5 min from BIO airport. WiFi is excellent, fast and stable, breakfast is great, but starts only at 8 AM. Do not prepay for breakfast if you have an early morning flight. Rooms are big but not very well furnished for a business stay. A full working desk with international plugs is missing, there is no armchair in the room, even though there is plenty of empty space in the room. The bar/pub is very nice, only a little bit expensive. the gym: forget it, like a small underground garage in a condo.

the Hotel was very comfortable. we had our own terrace and the restuarant and bistro downstairs served quality food and drinks overlooking the hills surrounding Bilbao. the Air port was a 15 min drive away and the centre of Bilbao was easily accesible with a 20 minute trip to a park and ride and a 10 trip on the metro. Bilbao is a lovely town with many attractions including the Guggenhiem and the old town. our first visit to northern Spain and it certainly wont be our last.

Very good hotel. We were only there one night prior to flying home - very handy for the airport if you have a car. The food in the bistro was excellent.

We stopped here after traveling on the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao. The hotel was close and easy to find using GPS. The taxi ride to Bilbao is around €25 but the Guggenheim is well worth the visit and staying out of the city avoids parking charges and extra hassle. The room was excellent with a nice outside terrace and the bar was reasonably priced. We had a fabulous meal in the restaurant and they clearly have a good chef, although atmosphere was a little lacking but the view more than compensated for this. The hotel is also per friendly, which is a bonus.

Palacio was an amazing stay! We were only there for one night, that was the only negative. Hotel, room, grounds and food were excellent. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bilbao. It is 10 minutes or less from the city so you could easily stay there all the time, for a few nights or the whole time.

Nothing to complain about here, everything is spotless and clean. Very accommodating staff, the area is quiet and peaceful and a great place for some Golf.
