Koro Sun Resort

Positive: great location, beautiful grounds, great infinity pool. Foot at the pool was great Negatives: the concierge was way too concerned with making sure we understood that we would only have free wifi for 4 people and would have to pay additional to have wifi for the other two in our group. We booked a 3 bedroom villa for six people, paid a good price and was offended by the ‘money grab’.

Nice resort that offers a lot of activities every day. I liked walking around the property and discovering new things. They had an herbal walk and showed me all the medicinal plants that Fijians used instead of medication. The staff is really nice and accommodating. They also offer free shuttle from Savusavu and Labassa airport. The massage was also good.

First night the room had major toilet leakage very unhealthy. Nest night our room was changed but no compensation given in return at least the management could have given a very stay for one night or free dinner to make it up

Apart from the room everything else was ok

The staff knew my name instantly, the kindness and service was top notch. I couldnt have had a nicer experience. The management to the grounds crew all said bula and were just happy and pleasant. The community in Savusavu is just friendly, helpful and made me feel like i was home. Bula Vinaka, see you next time!

Beautiful people and place!

The location was exceptional. The rainforest setting with the mountains to one side and the ocean on the other is brilliant.

The property seems to be in need of some serious maintenance to make it functional. A styling update to the rooms while maintaining the Fijian aesthetic is also advised. My main concern was the lack of hygiene in the rooms. The toilet was dirty and seemed to leak. There was a brownish tinge to the tap water and the water in the toilet. They both smelled bad. As a frequent visitor to Fiji, this was the first time we had to brush our teeth with bottled water. The air-conditioning was also tempramental, with it being either freezing cold or simply off al together. The hot water in our room failed as the LPG tank was run empty while my son was having a shower. Appreciate that a rural area may not have plumbed natural gas, but there are better ways to set up the system, such as with 2 LPG Tanks or even using an electric or solar system to avoid these issues. Dining was also an issue, I picked up 2 tubs of sealed Rewa Yogurt on 2 separate days to find both had gone off. Both were within the printed best before dates. However, it had gone off, potentially due to poor refrigeration. Dinner at Koro Sun needs to be booked at breakfast, and even with this advanced booking, we were served roast chicken, which was still "pink" inside. Public safety also seems not to be a concern for staff at the Koro Sun. For example we found the hotel driver washing down the mini bus at reception on multiple occasions. On polished tile floors, it can result in a guest slipping and suffering a serious injury. My ten year old happened to slip and was fortunate that I cause him. With 10's of acres of vacant land at their disposal, it beggars belief as to why this practice would be permitted, all within the line of sight of the duty manager. If this was a budget hotel, I would let everything but the plumbing and safety issues go. However, at this price point, it is simply unacceptable. Location aside, this property is disappointing, to say the least.

We spent an incredible week at Edgewater villa, where the forest spa massage was a highlight, offering profound relaxation and natural healing. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the seafood restaurant, though only open twice a week, was a culinary delight. We had to book early to secure a spot, which was well worth it. The resort's expansive grounds, blending forest jungle with ocean views, were breathtaking. Evenings under the stars were magical, despite some internet connectivity issues during our stay, which seemed to be a rare occurrence.

An authentic Fijian experience with fantastic input from local villagers. Great food
