Doulos Phos The Ship Hotel

Hotel room was clean, strong water pressure for shower.

Food was bad and expensive, not worth paying for this standard, Breakfast also not tasty and have to eat together with flies. The room flooring was slippery when I stepped out of the bathroom, and I almost fell.

Everything about this hotel is awesome, from the location, the wonderful service, friendly staffs, comfortable cabins, the facilities and last but not least, the history of how it came to be.

There should be a shower curtain or a door to separate the wet and dry area in the bathroom. The infinity pool closes too early.

Liked the heritage tour of the ship. It was a new experience for us learning the ship's history. All the staff were very polite, accommodating, smiley and helpful. Highly recommended for those who want to go for a short gateaway. Away from noise and crowd, this is a perfect destination. It's very quiet, peaceful, and very near to BBT, just 2 mins drive. We stayed in the deluxe suite with a balcony overseeing the Seaview.

The food was fantastic. Especially satay, ketupat, nasi goreng kampung, nasi lemak, egg bennedict, etc. The breakfast menu could be improved to include a little more variety for vegetarians.

The food was really good over there, the staff also really friendly. It really exceeded my expectations of this hotel. I would like to come here again next time

The hotel is OK, clean, and interesting that they make a ship a hotel. Still lots of things to improve. The bar only sell beer, the food offer is limited. Activities you have the pool, air rifle and some board games that’s it. Is a good low budget option if you want to stay in the pool.

客船をホテルにしているということで、船内ツアーを開催していたり、ユニークな作りで楽しめました。部屋からの景色も非常に綺麗でよかったです。 近くのマングローブ・ホタルツアーも近くて便利でした。 窓が結構汚れていたのがちょっと勿体無いのと、レストランのレパートリーがもっとあると良いなと思いました。

Amazing hospitality and service by the staff. Views were also great especially from the poolside, we were able to catch the sunset when the skies were clear. The cabin was spacious and clean. The ship tour was also interesting and made the stay very unique.

Location near the ferry terminal however relatively far from Lagoi beach/other attractions (however now grab available which mitigated the impact)

My 11 year old son is obsessed with ships and in particular the Titanic, so staying on a ship of the same era was a dream come true for him. We got a guided tour of the full ship including engine room which he loved. The rooms were comfy, the food was great l, the staff were super friendly and the sunset views from the infinity pool were absolutely stunning.

The services rendered by Captain Sem & his crew are exceptional. They attended to my needs ahead my arrival. The customer service manager Nelly took the effort to make all arrangements for me. The services rendered by Captain Sem & Nelly exceed my expectations. They are warm, friendly & genuinely welcoming & went the extra miles to make sure that all my plans proceeded seamlessly for me. I am very impressed by their care & professionalism. They together with the rest of the team have certainly made our stay at Duolos a memorable one & if I return to Bintan, I will surely choose to stay at Duolos where everything is under 1 roof & everyone so welcoming. The Heritage tour is insightful & make our stay special. The open deck offers panoramic view of the seas & surrounding with view of beautiful sunsets. The foods served at the dining outlets are delicious. The semi fining menu offers a delightful experience with good food.

A bit of a maze navigating from the rooms to the activity areas. May be more directional signage would help. We tried both the semi fine dining set & the traditional nasi liwet. The food selections for both are somewhat similar. Perhaps can add more variety to the semi fine dining selection to make it more distinctive from nasi liwet

We had a magical 3d2n stay at the Doulos Phos hotel. Befitting of the moniker “ grand lady of the seas” indeed. We arrived on a sunny December afternoon. It was a 10 min short ride from the ferry terminal. So convenient. We were greeted by old school lobby that felt warm like a classic reading parlour replete with comfy sofas, a clarinova and books of different languages. Doulos Phos spells character from the start. What a wonderful greeting. Its unpretentious decor may seem frills free to some, but I had fallen in love with the welcoming space. Wide airy spaces envelop you with its dappled sunlight from the deck. The cabin feels positively spiritual. Our family of 4 loves the bouncy pillows and soft yet supportive bed. You can see intricate decor touches on the pillowcases and bath robes. And the sailor nautical touches abound Many new cookie cutter hotels don’t do this anymore. If the old world romantic in you craves for something more personal you may find it here. There is a signature tea or reading corner that our family love..cozy nook for beer or kueh lapis and coffee! We had a connecting room 407 and 409. The bathroom is spacious and boasts of various amenities for hygiene. We actually enjoyed using the bathrobes. Our 1st Breakfast on a Sunday was a carefully curated menu. Although not a buffet for main entree, it was a fair portion of nicely done Western and Indo fare. Accompanying it was a free flow of salad,cereal, bread and dessert. Our 2nd breakfast on Monday was a La Carte with a good selection that differed from first day. It was plenty. And I love the strong black coffee! Abd that deliciously moist brownie cake. I’m a breakfast aficionado and I love everything Doulos Phos has offered. The infinity pool is way way better than the one at MBS in Singapore. It was so long I can do proper hearty laps.
