Elliott House Inn

If you enjoy a quiet night, this is not the place for you. This is a historic inn that uses wall ACs. The wall ACs are noisy. If you're adjacent to the street or a restaurant like I am, forget about it. The room had a musty smell when we checked in. I didn't see mold but the smell didn't make me feel super confident about our choice. The room is otherwise a good size given that it's a historic home. However, I would not stay here again nor would I recommend this place to anyone. It might be good for college kids who don't care about rest, but if you're a couple trying to get rest at night, this is not the place for you. I have no idea how they market themselves as a romantic spot.

Price: high. Amenities: few. Service: non-existent. No parking. No breakfast. Room not adequately cleaned. Electricity (overhead lights) spotty.

The listing says 24-hour service/ front desk and that there is a bar/lounge 9n property, neither of which is true - there’s not even a lobby and front desk closed at 10, I barely made it there in time to check in. Lovely bar next door (completely unrelated to hotel), but that’s not what was advertised. Front desk manager was unapologetic, definitely wasn’t feeling that southern hospitality.

The location is the most salient attribute, with several excellent restaurants a stone's throw away. And the bed is comfortable. After that, our room was gloomy, with both very dirty windows opening onto a narrow service accessway. The bathroom is cramped, with a single small sink and a tub with shower head. There is no breakfast, no daily maid service, and no safe. I would have rated it 3 1/2, but since that is not an option, went with 4.

Super charming historic hotel in the center of historic Charleston. Highly recommended!

Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Also very quiet from street noise. Love that they have morning complimentary coffee service in the courtyard.

Very cute place with a unique Charleston feel. They serve wine & cheese between 5:00pm & 6:00pm on the patio. This is a nice touch & allows you to chat with other guest & compare where to go for dinners & sight seeing. We were very comfortable here. The location is perfect.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant . Only suggest is they should provide daily towel changes. When we requested fresh towels the staff did provide us with clean towels.

Very loud. Could not sleep a single night out of 3. Rooms got renovated, but all smell muggy & stuffy. Outside area is not kept up properly. Reception hour is nice. Coffee in the morning is bad. Jeremy - staff member - very helpful. Location is perfect
