Where do I start this was a holiday from hell.
We arrived at Mersoy Bella Vista Hotel, Icmeler Saturday 04.10.2025 around 19.00pm.
We checked in, reception staff showed us to our room, first impressions, dirty, dark and dingy.
We paid extra for a pool view this room was NOT a pool view. I explained to the man we had paid extra but then all of a sudden, there was a language barrier, he was fine up to this time. The room hadn’t been cleaned, there was dirt on the floors, broken furniture, there was a dirty ashtray with stubs in it, the toilet seat was hanging off and the toilet roll holder was all rusty. He placed our cases in the room and stated ‘Have a nice holiday’. There was no way I was staying there. We went back to reception to see the Manager. The manager stated you can upgrade to a superior room for extra cost, we took a look at the superior rooms with the manager, which again wasn’t a pool view, this was over looking a run down street with trees hanging over the balcony and he wanted £300 extra. I explained I wasn’t happy as I am not getting what I have paid for. He said we could look at the Mersoy Exclusive which was the same complex, I decided to take a look, its now 21.00pm and still no room. The room he showed me was slightly bigger, bigger balcony, 1 wardrobe with 1 hanger in it, no drawers and not very clean. We decided we would take it and deal with it tomorrow. The Manager said, if you take that room, he wanted £150 upgrade fee, he requested cash only, we had no choice but to take it and deal with this the next day. We woke the next day, to start the day with me cleaning the room as this had not been cleaned, I was mortified. I went to reception, they are stating they couldn’t speak English, I used Google Translate and they still said they didn’t understand. I requested to speak with the Manager, they just kept on saying ‘Later’. I cleaned the apartment the best I could, to make it enjoyable, we were supposed to be All Inclusive, With a Nice Hotel, Pool View and a nice chill for a week. This is day one and really not acceptable. The holiday just got worse and worse.
I’ll do a list of all faults, instead of going into detail:-
Poolside – Filthy, cups and glasses still there from the day before
Pool / Poolside – Not cleaned once in a week
Ashtrays - cig butts from the day before
Poolside – Dirty towels left behind
Children Pool – Was filthy, no child should have been allowed anywhere near this
Poolside bar – Was filthy, not been cleaned In months
Sunbathing Area – All the tiles were missing / Loose, trip hazard
The poolside, pool bar and eating area outside was NOT cleaned once in a week
Drinks – Beer, Gin, Wine, Vodka, Soft Drinks
Ashtrays around the ground – Always dirty
Room – Not once cleaned in the whole week, towels not changed, I had to go to their laundry room and get my own towels, bedding and change myself.
Outside balcony – Never cleaned, I did this myself
Towels – Disgusting, grey in colour instead of white
Cobwebs - around the door and on the ceiling
Balcony – massive gap where the rain came through and into the room, I had to mop up with towels and leave some on the floor as it was flooding
Balcony – The drain was blocked with debris and cockroaches, this was horrific, I brought this to the housekeeper attention – Her words were, she was the only house keeper who was trying to do all the hotel, she stated ‘she had had enough’, all the staff have left, and she was going to leave’ – This was not good, we still had days to go
Restaurant – This place requires closing down, its filthy, the tables are disgusting, we had to drink our coffee out of a paper cup, the food was warm, some not even cooked properly, same meat every night,,,,,chicken, chicken and more chicken
The bins around the hotel – Never emptied
Kettle in the room – Broken, had no lid, so when it was boiled, it burnt your hand
Drinks machine – Disgusting
Curtains – Sheets were use
Bar Area – They used a bucket to capture the water, no wet floor signs out for safety and just left it wet – Massive slip hazard. Towels were used as doormats.
I saw the manager the day before we were due to leave and stated ‘I want my £150 back and I’ll collect it on ‘check out’. I explained all this to him, he didn’t seem interested, I told him I have never ever stay in a place like this before – He needs closing down
Even though we were All Inclusive, we literally slept and showered in that room. I became really ill on Wednesday 01.10.2025 and still am, I will be seeking medical advice tomorrow with my own GP
