Mersoy Bellavista Hotel

Our experience at the hotel: We were pleasantly surprised — the hotel and our room were not nearly as bad as some of the reviews made them out to be. The room was clean, functional, and towels and bed linen were changed regularly. The hotel is definitely showing its age and could use a bit of care, but overall it did the job. The view from the adults-only pool area is absolutely stunning — a perfect spot for a peaceful holiday. That being said... the poolside bar is a bit of a heartbreaker. If you're dreaming of fancy cocktails and an energetic bartender with even basic English, you'll be disappointed. The drink options are limited to beer, vodka, gin, and red or white wine. Let's just say the bar has the personality of a closed minibar — quiet, basic, and not very exciting 😅 The food is typically Turkish and quite minimal, but if you're into simplicity, it might suit you. Honestly, booking just the room and maybe breakfast would have been the better choice instead of going for all inclusive. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, and prices are very reasonable. The area itself is truly beautiful — gorgeous views, with beaches that are a bit pebbly but still charming and inviting. All in all, we had a nice stay and tomorrow we head back home with some good memories.

I want to say my husband and I had a great time here . Feel sad that the hotel is still getting bad reviews . We stayed in 3209 adults side , aircon was great and free , room was perfect , didn’t have a kettle asked for one a was there in a minute , has a fridge . We were there 10 days and we ate out once . The all inclusive we enjoyed , plenty to choose from and the staff work hard . We met really nice people around the pool who have either been there before or would go back , so 10/10 from us !!

Definitely not a 4 star - the food was terrible - had to eat out every night. Staff apart from the receptionist Eylip were not engaging. Also one of the staff thought it was okay to enter rooms of an evening!! I would 100% avoid this hotel. Great location but spoke with people in other hotels and they definitely got a better deal.

I know there are mixed reviews on this hotel, some saying they had poor experiences and some saying they had great experiences. We however had a poor experience. Food & Drink - We paid for an ‘all inclusive’ package but ate out every day of our trip as the food wasn’t good. The main concern is that nothing is labelled so if you have allergies or tolerances, you wouldn’t know what to eat. If you haven’t been to Turkey before like myself, it’s hard to tell what’s in each dish. Breakfast was the worst meal of the day consisting of only 5 hot items to choose from. Everything else was olives, cheese and bread. The drinks were just as bad. You could have beer, plain gin, plain vodka or red wine. There’s a handful of ‘cocktails’ on offer but none of them made properly. What they also fail to mention on the website is that the hotel is split into two different hotels across the road from each other. If you opt for the ‘adults only’ hotel, you have to walk backwards and forwards to get food/drinks from the other hotel. Paying for an adults only hotel to then have to sit and eat meals with kids running wild isn’t fun. There was a pool bar in the Bellavista that was only open until 6pm and there wasn’t usually anyone behind the bar to serve. There wasn’t a snack bar throughout the day so if you missed lunch at 12, you then had to wait until 7 for dinner. Rooms - Our room was very dated and dirty. We had to ask for new towels as the ones we were given were stained with brown and yellow patches. We asked for our room to be cleaned twice upon arrival as it was dirty and we got told that it had already been cleaned. I ended up wiping down surfaces with a makeup wipe. I’ve attached a picture below of what our bedroom door looked like. It was broken and didn’t close fully, the locking mechanism also didn’t work. There was a mini fridge in the room that was filled with flies so we didn’t use that either. The only positive thing about the room was the air con, it worked well and kept the room cool. Staff - The staff weren’t very helpful or friendly. They were stand offish with complaints and didn’t want to rectify the problems we had. They spoke little to no English which when you’re running a hotel that’s full of British tourists, isn’t helpful. Everyone else we spoke to throughout the course of the holiday all said the same thing about the hotel. No one would return. Most people tried to get refund from their bookers and even tried to move hotels. Location - The hotel is a short walk from lots of bars, restaurants and shops. We had a lovely evening meal at The Waterfall Restaurant which was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There’s also a bar at the front of the hotel called ‘BistroMed’ it’s attached to the hotel but isn’t run by the hotel. It’s run by a guy called Speedy. He’s great and very helpful. The food a drink in there is cheap and far better than the hotel. We also had lunch opposite the beach at a place called ‘Tiki Beach’, the food a drinks in there were beautiful and you also get a free sunbed on the beach after eating. Excursions - We booked a few experiences through our rep and there’s definitely a couple we would recommend. The Turkish Baths were fantastic and only £25 pp for a 2 hour trip. You can add things on once there which we opted to do but even without the added extras, the experience would’ve been great. We also did a ‘Big Boss’ boat party. We had a bit of a faff with the rep trying to put us on a different party boat to start with but we stood our ground and got on the correct boat. If you’re going to do a party boat, I’d recommend booking directly with the boat on the evening you want the trip. We paid £35 pp for all inclusive drinks on the boat trip. Overall, I obviously wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel. There’s plenty more hotels surrounding which were far better looking and more appealing.

I appreciate the mixed reviews and experiences of many who have stayed, I can only comment on my own experiences here as we enjoy our last day. The room we had was clean and functional for the time spent there. Bedding and towels seem to be changed on Monday and Thursday which I think is reasonable from a sustainability point of view. I think if we asked for a change in the interim this request would have been accommodated but we didn’t need to. The air conditioning worked however was positioned above the bed which would be my only gripe. The food was mass catering as we expected and we found something to eat daily, the drinks are limited and I think bottled water would give piece of mind to visitors ( I have previously on another holiday had a bad experience with local water served instead of bottled). However it costs around 40p to get bottled from the shop so that’s what we did. On the whole we had an amazing holiday and this is a great base to explore.

This hotel is not 4 star it is no more than a 2 star, Absolute in dire needs of repair, all rooms dated and dirty, smelling of smoke, no smoke alarms only holes where they once were? Food, a joke, same food every day and quite frankly not edible, standards of hygiene were no where to be seen. No drinking water anywhere within the hotel, for several days there were no tea bags, my basic human needs were violated on a minute by minute basis. The pool!! Well…. For several days it was cloudy and stagnant, not fit for purpose. The whole complex is a disgrace, needs a complete refurb. Please be aware your basic needs will not be met.

This is definitely not a 4⭐️ hotel, at the very most it’s 2⭐️! I would avoid this hotel at all costs! We stayed for 7 nights, 2 of those nights were spent moving rooms as every room is appalling. We finally ended up with a superior suite, sounds fancy right? Not at all! The hotel is dirty, unhygienic & unsafe! The pool pump stopped working so the water was murky & stagnant! The food choices were the same every day and hygiene standards were dreadful! There wasn’t a snack bar or access to clean drinking water! The rooms stunk of smoking and were dirty, cigarette holes in furniture and smoke alarms disconnected! We spent most of our time (and money) outside of the hotel, which defeated the objective of an all inclusive holiday! Never again will I book through Thomas Cook!

This hotel should be condemned the food I discusting staff are terrible rooms are filthy management at hotel are non existent and I feel that it should be shut done as I travel a lot and I'm thirty years of travel I've never stayed in such a shambolick place Gross!!! I wanted to add videos and pictures but didn't want you all to feel Sick?!!!

!!!!NOT A 4 STAR FULSE ADVERTISEMENT PLEASE AVOID!!!! Where do we begin ?? From start to finish our visit was pretty terrible. When we arrived we were taken all over the place with all our luggage with staff that were clueless and unorganised, we got given our room that had no working air con and no pool view that we had paid extra for. The next day we asked to change rooms to which we had to wait until later on in the day to which again we got taken to the wrong room 3 times!! The staff member even tried to let us in a room that was occupied!! The cleanliness was not great at all, everything covered in dust and corners off the rooms were disgusting we also had days where the rooms were not cleaned at all, water pressure was also terrible.The food, well it was awful the options were very limited nothing was labelled, most things were not cooked properly we had to eat out every night because we did not feel it was safe to eat the food, the only nice thing was the bread in the morning. Luckily we met some amazing people whilst being here as we all had something in common (we hated the hotel) the area is lovely and we would definitely come back but we would NEVER come back to this hotel. We don’t like to moan but this place was a mess, uncomfortable beds, bad food, bad service, unhygienic, lots of health and safety hazards, no filter in the pool, the list could go on. Finally the last day was a disaster, we paid £25 for late check out, we was told we had to change rooms which was fine however we got to the room and it hadn’t been cleaned at all, dirty towels, dirty bathroom, cups everywhere bin over flowing, we went to reception and asked it to be cleaned as we paid for it, we got told it would be, we went out for lunch and come back and the room was still how we left it! So again we had to go to reception the staff member saw us and started tutting and sighing at this point I’m getting really upset as no one was listening or understanding us, they said they were going to move our room again!!! This was our last day being wasted all we wanted was them to clean the room we had paid extra for so we could shower and freshen up before we head to the airport. In the end they listened and said they would clean it so we went back a little while later and yes it was cleaner but not great, we went to shower and the water smelt like urine so after all of that we didn’t even shower we just wanted out. We couldn’t contact the owner to make a complaint, the staff admitted to us that they are fed up with dealing with so many complaints and that they were sorry but their was no manager to talk to no one wears uniforms so you have no ideas who’s who, they said the owner is useless and they all want to quit, we are going to take this further because this is so misleading and no way a 4 star hotel it’s a 2 if that. Please don’t book here, spend a little more for a better time, we didn’t let the hotel ruin our holiday we was just grateful to meet others around the pool who we got on with which made the holiday great. Please don’t listen to the good reviews take your money else over. Rant over

1. Staff at the hotel were very unhelpful and surly, with only a couple of exceptions. Did not help that there was not anyone that spoke good English only very basic (OK I know it is not their language and we can’t speak any Turkish). 2. We were put in the wrong room type for the first 3 night it was only after much complaining that we were moved. 3. The hotel was in a very poor state of maintenance: a. Concrete stair ways crumbling and bits falling off. b. In the first single room the Air Conditioner leaked and flooded the floor. c. The second room (the one we had booked) the handrail in the bath/shower fell of the wall as soon as I touched it! A very serious safety hazard. Hotel did sort this. d. The Shower rail had fallen off the wall but I was able to repair that myself. e. The Jacuzzi bath could not be used as the pipes had come off (we saw this when the maintenance came in to try to fix the leaking shower and bath as they both flooded the floor when used. f. Handrails on stair way/ramp not safe or secure especially the one by the ONLY restaurant g. Lights on walkways often not working at night. h. Public toilets lights do not work, Hand towel dispensers do not work, Toilets not clean, no flush water in urinals and doors do not close properly. i. On the last day before we had actually checked out someone had entered our room and swapped the working fridge and replaced it with a non-working fridge. j. The room was not serviced every day. 4. The food in the one and only restaurant was revolting with very little choice, deserts all the same everyday just different colours. 5. The 2 bars had a very poor choice of drinks – Gin, Vodka, Raki (if you were lucky) and one sort of beer 6. Their website is well out of date as it stated there was an al-a-carte restaurant which did not exist.
