The Knighton Hotel

None but excellent cafe across road

The room itself was good - warm and comfortable.

I arrived to find that the hotel was locked and there was a phone number to ring if no staff present. It was answered by a call centre who took 20 minutes to find my booking. I then had to retrieve the front door and room key out of a key box. The room key didn't work and I had to go outside again to ring the call centre number again and they gave me the code for another key box for another room - this worked. Overall it took me over an hour to access my room and there were no staff on site. Another guest had music at full blast, and there was no-one to complain to about. I think lack of staff is unacceptable for the cost - £75 a night, and it felt distinctly unsafe for a single woman.

The location was amazing. The area is beautiful. We didn’t use the amenities at the hotel as we were there for a wedding so we were not in the hotel too much.

I would say a bar, after a long drive it would have been nice not to have to go out to relax and have a drink

Staff were friendly and the view was lovely. Room was big and very clean.

The sofa bed was a medieval torture device. Not fit for purpose. I slept on a 45 degree angle all night and could feel the bars through the mattress. The water did not get warm enough to have a bath or shower and the jets did not work. I know they were just setting up but they had the space to provide a basic continental breakfast and this would have been appreciated.

Staff were great, clean, inviting,location was ace! We could also bring the dog which was the major selling point not to mention the price for what you get

Bed mattress not the best but equally not the worst and this is by no means an insult we had a brilliant time ! Slept well and were comfortable... p.s. couldn't get the t.v. on but we never use when away 😁
