Radisson Hotel Shimla

Great location. Bedroom faced the valleys which was amazing to wake up to. Staff very helpful. There’s a free short shuttle bus that takes you to the end of the road where you take the steps up to Mall road. Spa facilities were great also. My only criticism is that the pool needs to be better maintained. The tiles could with a good scrub and clean. The water, needs a regular netting of leaves and bugs. Due to this i didn’t fancy a chill session in the pool.

Layout of hotel over many buildings and levels quite confusing.

It's a good property, staff is very welcoming and room has a good valley view. Good breakfast and a shuttle facility to go to the mall road. Special mention Aradhana and Rakesh, they were very courteous and helpful.

Food prices are really steep.

Positive- Few courteous staff members Disappointments - one really needs to know even before booking, in which block you are booking, the bookings in A block which are not suits but rooms, are extremely disappointing for the money you pay, we paid almost 23000 per night, and we had expectations of service to that level. Having experienced the excellence in hospitality of taj from mumbai. Dehli, Udaipur and such for comparable cost, the service received here was clearly gave us a feeling of ‘loss of money’. Particularly those who are elderly, or need ease of movement for one place to another in a hotel, these rooms aren’t meant for them. Plus it’s really not possible to know about these hurdles from online portals, the staff isn’t courteous enough to give all details. The day we reached the complete road to hotel was blocked, we couldn’t go out for any sight seeing, considering only two days we had we lost one half day just being at hotel where there was major restrictions on movement due to various levels and lack of lifts ( my husband needs assistance for climbing up and down) The temperature of the room can be adjusted only till 19 degree, again for someone who is used to 24 degrees and not below, it was not possible to adjust temperature and we were told that either we switch the ac off ( with no ventilation ) and only then they may provide heater ( if we keep ac off) what kind of science and engineering is this ? We don’t mind not having ac if there is a scope for ventilation

Overall experience was amazing! Amazing service and food.Great Hospitality. Suggestion to please get temperature controlled pool as kids were all prepared for pool but it was icing cold Internet had little issue on the last day
