Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa

So many reviews detail exactly what is perfect about the Renaissance, and having visited many times for us it is the ideal resort to rest and relax away from the normal hectic schedules. It is in a quiet area, has beautifully tended gardens, a beautiful beach with the most incredible sunsets and facilities such as the spa that are simply first class. As other people have noted, you can have a superb hotel facility, but it is the staff that make all the difference. Attentive, professional but also like old friends, the hotel team in total make this and extraordinarily special place to stay. There is such a large team but inevitably a few names stand out for making the stay that extra bit out of the ordinary. That starts with Chin who as Director of Operations has worked at the hotel for eighteen years and whilst some new faces appear each year, they all get the guidance, training and that special touch for looking after all the guests. Zee at the pool bar brings so much energy, positivity and fun every day, ably supported by Kik, and in the breakfast room Fon and Blue (who is still a trainee) bring that sparkle, and a new face on reception (Bolsey) did likewise. Standouts continue to be the cocktails on the beach (on selected days) and the sea view villas which are simply spectacular. By the time we next visit, some refurbishments are planned, and we are excited to see how the team can further improve such a beautiful location and team. Possibly one of the smallest of the Marriot brand hotels in Koh Samui but definitely the best so far On arrival at the reception the staff (as always in Thailand). Are exceptionally friendly and efficient offering a welcome drink and sorbet! A small buggy ride around the place to my villa and the room is large and clean and free of any Defects which is refreshing Food at breakfast and the. Beach BbQ is excellent Good sized pool and seating sufficient around the beach All in all a great stay Did I mention the staff are all amazing ! Can’t wait to stay again.

Stayed in one of the villas for 10 days - they are aged, but beautiful. Staff was great, cleaners and the groundkeepers kept everything very best. The restaurants have great food and are able to cater to all kinds of special diets - and they take it seriously. Spa was the best I’ve been to in Thailand. Will most likely return here again and request same room.

Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa Lamai Beach We and many others keep going back for many reasons. Since ever we first stayed in this resort it was love from the first site. Every year we are in South East Asia combining Ko Samui with other places/countries to visit. Over the years resort provides exceptional care and facilities for its guests. Combined with spectacular location, there is a private beach, two swimming pools, paddle pool for children, fantastic beach bar and restaurant, two other restaurants with unforgettable romantic charisma and quality of food. Spa is just fantastic and experience we all remember forever. One can also attend cooking classes, cocktail making sessions at the beach bar and exploratory trips organized at the reception. Resort also provides complimentary pick up and drop off from/to the airport. We want to give a huge kudos to all the people who make it possible. There are only two team members left from the original crew all these years ago. Khun Chin and Khun Woodie. The guys and new GM are just brilliant to pass the knowledge, experience and hospitality spirit to the rest of the team. Everyone deserved big thank you. Breakfast is just haven, fruits, salads, pastries, meat cuts, children menu, Thai delicious specialties fresh juices, even Bloody Mary to start great day. The list seems to be endless. The staff provided superior customer service and extremely helpful to meet needs. The resort is nice but dated. Very comfortable beds and great bed linens and nice pillows. Excellent buffet breakfast. Menu for lunch and dinner was satisfactory. Hotel is in a remote area and while a hotel shuttle is provided the times are not optimal.

Loved everything from check-in to check-out! Receptionist Lek was super welcoming, and also everyone in bar/pool area

Had one of the pool villas which was beautiful and very peaceful and relaxing. Lovely location, quiet but not far to Lamai centre
