Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa

After staying 4 nights by Bophut Beach close to Fisherman’s Village, arriving at Renaissance Ko Samui was a welcome retreat. Very luxurious, excellent service, lovely pools, awesome rooms (and we stayed in the cheap seats! ‘Just’ the deluxe rooms) and a bit of peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of Bophut Beach. A special thank you to Maiya Lee for simply the best hotel management customer service ever and thank you to Art, Peace, Aod, Mam and the rest of the Renaissance crew for making our stay unforgettable.

A week of great indulging experience in Renaissance. Great, quite property -well cared for - situated at coral beach - with 2 different swimming pools, and 2 restaurants where we had number of great meals throughout our stay. The rooms are comfortable and large with a balcony. The beds have high sleeping comfort. Superior breakfast with a special service for eggs, freshly baked waffles and pancakes, verity of Asian and European food and drinks - not repetitive. Hotel organizes different activity as yoga, Pilates, Thai boxing etc.

The beach is coral - great to look at - less to swim in - very shallow as well in high tide. Property operates free shuttle buses to 2 nearest beaches, which are great, however it is not "swimming" out the door experience.

We had a great experience at the Renaissance Koh Samui. We stayed the last 5 nights here, and it has a small boutique hotel vibe with the high quality standards of a Renaissance. I am a Platinum Bonvoy member and stayed at one of the Ocean front Villas. I got the usual benefits of free breakfast for two but note that there is no lounge as expected at a Resort. The view from our villa was magical in the mornings and the evenings (attached picture). The service exuded typical Thai warmth while not being very intrusive. The restaurants and the bar are relatively small as expected of a hotel this size. And I am glad this is not another of those mega resorts. There are enough loungers at the small beach and the pool never felt too crowded. The breakfast was not very extensive but had most things covered (including a really spicy Bloody Mary to jumpstart your mornings). We didn’t use the Gym or the Spa at the Hotel - we ended up going to other Spas; there are as many spas as there are restaurants in Samui I guess! Location wise, it’s situated at a relatively quiet place in Lamai, and one can walk to many restaurants and spas nearby. Maiya and the rest of the team helped us choose and book the right activities and a Van trip to Phuket (including a Ferry ride). The only thing we didn’t like, was probably the beach which wasn’t very usable during low tides; and we wish we stayed a few more days here. We hope to be back again (and soon).

We were given a free upgrade to a sea view room and the view was amazing. We loved the long lap pool - we had it to ourselves each day. We also enjoyed the pool by the beach to laze away the afternoon. The resort was very quiet and the grounds were lush and well maintained. The service was outstanding.

Second time here. Staff are lovely and friendly and very helpful with tours. Food lovely.

The resort was beautiful and the room very special. Food in the restaurants was exceptional and breakfast the best Ive had in a long time

The bathtub on the balcony was not private as even after pulling blinds down the side was wide open. The bedside lamps had to be changed due to mould - although I understand the humidity from a tropical climate can cause this. Wine in the restaurants was far too expensive.

Everything the view, service, spa and the food were top tier, it was a magnificent stay

Had an issue with mosquitos and a snake entered the room it was a bit scary but the resort security brought an army to take it out was pleased with the reaction

The property was beautiful, the staff was phenomenal and the food was amazing. We had a wonderful bungalow with a private pool. The bungalow was big and comfortable and the grounds are just beautifully kept. I think the best part was the staff- they were so friendly, accommodating and helpful- every single one! It was my daughter’s 21at and they surprised her with a piece of cake and cake made of them led and flowers on the bed. We loved staying here!

It was my third visit at the resort and I still love it. Especially the pool villas are amazing. Comfortable bed and so quiet. Best place for me to relax. Thanks to Khun Reng from House keeping. Also the food is great I love the Tuna Tartar at the pool bar the most. Thank you khun Kik. Also the breakfast buffet is amazing. Thank you trainee Earn for always remembering my coffee order and receiving me with a bright smile.

We were lucky enough to have visited the Renaissance resort in 2018 and we not disappointed at our return visit. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and attentive. No request was too much trouble. Well done to all involved.
