The Whiteface Lodge

Having been a guest here many times....it is still one of my favorite places! We left CT. just before a HUGE snowstorm.....the State was actually 'closed'.....to come to a place known for their frigid temps sounds silly.....but it really is far more relaxing and cozy than going South! WFL has everything under one roof! You can get to the pool/hot tub through a heated tunnel. Two restaurants. ice skating....and they plow as needed and have their own Zamboni....bowling alley, game and exercise rooms...and a full-screen movie every night with popcorn provided!. Fireplaces in every room. GREAT staff.....often students from far away lands who are attentive and go out of their way to please guests. It is not a bargain place to stay.....and hamburgers are $29 which we feel is pretty high....even though the fries that come with it are great!

Beautiful property and rooms. However, for spending over $600 for one night, it was thoroughly not worth it. I advise if you are a couple or adult looking for a weekend away, do not choose this hotel. The amount of kids here was insane. Couldn't even go to the hot tub because the entire area was flooded with children splashing everyone. Then while sitting in my room, all I could hear was the kids playing hockey above us (yea we heard their parents talking about it at the bar-great parenting). If you're looking for a couples winter away, choose another upscale hotel in the area. Highly recommend mirror lake inn.

I had a wonderful getaway with my daughter at the Whiteface Lodge! The staff, service, accommodations, amenities, and restaurants were all top notch! Thank you for a perfect stay!

We loved our stay here! The staff are so so helpful and friendly, a lot friendlier than most other hotels. The rooms are perfect, spacious and super clean. We love the free cookies which are amazing, and there’s a lot to do around the lodge. Great location as easy to get to shops, restaurants etc. if we are ever in lake placid again this will be our first and probably only choice!

The things included in the stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout your stay.

The bed was little to hard for both me and my wife and the night in peak 47 my wife was dedicateing a song to me for our 20th anniversary and a staff member not the two bartenders started yelling out it's was someones else's anniversary before I could hear what the singer was saying about your anniversary. Felt it was very rude and could of waited until he was done speaking.

The house keeper. The 2 girls that cleaned room 119 on Sunday was absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to help me out as I had three kids with me and had to take care of the elf.!!!!! when the kids came back in the room, they were stunned and amazed on the excellent work that the girls did shout out to the two housekeepers!!!!! forgot their names!!!

I went to the buffet on Sunday with three kids. My personal opinion was it was overpriced and not a good selection. Chicken Parm was not the real chicken Parm. It was chicken on a bone. Once again, this is my opinion, they had salad beans, potatoes, carrots, mac & cheese, fake chicken, Parm and prime rib for a high amount.
