THB Tropical Island

A little out of town but not the worst walk down. This hotel is absolutely huge. It's laid out in seperate blocks of apartments. Not suitable for anyone that has issues with mobility. Very basic apartments but rooms and towels are cleaned everyday. All pools are heated except for large pool. Sports bar is only open at 6.30pm and it is like a canteen. Apparently there is an animation team but I never seen any. Foods not great at the snack bar. Apartments and grounds in need of updating. If this was done place would be great.

Las habitaciones, el baño y el mobiliario están viejos y deteriorados. Tampoco está en buen estado la cocina de la habitación. Para nada es el nivel de un 4 estrellas. Las infraestructuras externas tampoco están al nivel: piscinas estropeadas o sin servicio, bares poco cuidados, super que es un bazar asiático, sala de juegos mediocre, etc

Les extérieurs sont très bien entretenu. Le personnel est très aimable, la restauration très correcte avec beaucoup de choix. Le parc aquatique et les piscines sont extras !

One of the dirtiest hotels ive ever stayed in. There is mould on the roof and walls in the hotel rooms, which can be noticed at first when you walk in due to the smell. The couch in the room was broken when we arrived, it sinks as you sit on it. The Bathroom is dirty, there is dirt on the walls behind the bin that has been there since we arrived even though the cleaners have been 4 times. The finish of the room overall is bad. There are cracks on corners and the furniture is worn. The breakfast each day has been basic, the bread is stale and the fruit is old. The fruit and veg in the supermarket is very much out of date. Initially we waited for 30 minutes past check in time at 3pm (having dropped our bags off at 12) for the room to be ready. Today we have gone to use the spa in the hotel and been told the card machine does not work. We asked where the atm was and was told it is near the restaurant, as there is several restaurants in the hotel, we checked them all and could not find it. We asked another member of staff where the atm was and they said it is located at reception. (However the map of the hotel says the atm is at a restaurant) We went to reception and could not find it there. The general feel of this hotel is more of a motel and would not be upto expectations. The "sports bar" doesnt show sports, the pizza restaurant closes if theres no one there after an hour, the pool bar gave my husband food poisoning after a warm tuna salad. The entertainment venue the dome, is an awful set up which makes you feel like your watching a school play not enjoying an evening show. Overall it is an extremely basic hotel. Would not recommend.

Positives: Clean Plenty of pools, slides and water park for kids. Evening buffet was fine. Staff are mainly friendly and helpful. Negatives: Loud drilling and a very strong chemical smell coming from adult pool refurbishment, plus a noisy generator at night, meant that we had to move into a different apartment. 20 mins walk from Playa Dorada and seafront restaurants. Rooms are dated and basic. Weak wifi. Poor air con. Freezing main pool with blaring music on a loop all day. Slow service at pool snack bar. Breakfast is poor quality. Restaurant overcrowded and felt like a canteen. Sprawling complex with several unused old reception areas. Shocking customer service when leaving the hotel for airport - long story.
