"Better Experience than Some Generic Hotel! "

8.0

We had a wedding in Inman, SC and was looking for somewhere to stay that would make the trip seem more like a quick getaway instead of staying at some generic ole hotel in Boiling Springs and Pine Crest Inn was exactly that! Historical building with an interesting and historical vibe! The inn and the property is beautiful, just wish we had more time to explore them more! The ladies working at the inn were extremely nice and accommodating.

"Decent placeto stay"

Nice place but too expensive for the tiny room they give you. Also the WiFi doesn’t reach the rooms which is unfortunate because I had no cell service there.

"Needs updating"

4.0

My husband and I stayed here for an anniversary getaway. We loved the history surrounding the inn, so my husband made the reservation and the room was around $200. They gave us a room in one of the first cabin buildings on the right side as you approach the main Inn. We’d reserved a pet-friendly room as we had our small cockapoo with us. The room was worse and less updated than a Red Roof Inn. The furnishings were not antiques, but rather looked like leftovers from a 1980’s living room -and not well cared for either. The bedspread was from the same era. He requested a jacuzzi room and it ended up being the size of a regular tub. It was dark and tucked behind the door of an already cramped and windowless bathroom. The bathroom really was tight for even 1 person. My husband requested a new room. They put us into a suite w/in the same cabin building. The space was nice as it had a vaulted living room w/an inviting, rustic fireplace and separate bedroom. The furnishings were again, less charming than they were just worn and outdated. I didn’t feel comfortable going to the bathroom, let alone taking a shower as the bathroom backed up to a separate street w/ houses and the window blind was broken and wouldn’t close... Breakfast was served the next morning in the main inn. Very charming, rustic dining room, w/ gracious server but only one option for breakfast. Since I try to stick with more protein than carbs, the French Toast offering, while delicious would’ve been very problematic for a diabetic. I don’t mind paying $200+ for a hotel room, but they need to update a bit and make sure basic things like window blinds are in working order if they want to charge what they’re charging.

"Exceptional"

10.0

We had the most relaxing stay at Pine Crest. The staff was great and friendly. The property is beautiful and only 3 mins from the lovely town. We brought our dog and he loved the large porch at the main house. Highly recommend!

"Falling into Disrepair and For Sale"

4.0

This “inn” is a compound of musty cottages, no longer charming, but just need a lot of work. Any guest can see the sagging roof, exterior rot., and peeling paint. The online pictures and video portrayed a better image. Our king deluxe room had a tacky shiny bedspread. We had a pleasant front desk attendant and left after breakfast.

"The Owner or Manager Carl Just Hung Up On Me"

2.0

I booked Stone Cottage 3 beds/3 baths on 11/16 for 11/18 - 20. After driving 5 hours, we discovered the glass doors in the Cottage did not lock. I told Jennifer & she said they were aware the lock was broken but not to worry because the deck outside the door is high off the ground & it should be OK. I told her I didn’t feel it was a safe situation. She said the Inn wasn’t booked & showed us other rooms. None were comparable. Jennifer called Carl & he said he’d have the lock fixed the next day. I called Tuesday & he said the lock was being fixed. I told him we were settled in the Red Horse Inn and due to the inconvenience it would be to come back I’d appreciate it if he could refund my deposit of $576 since he was aware of the broken lock & it is his responsibility. Carl said he had to think about it. I called & left messages. Carl said he was with family so I apologized for disturbing him & he said he’d call me Monday/Tuesday. It is Wednesday, 11/27 so I called & Carl said he didn’t decide. I politely told him I gave enough time to decide & he said he has a lot going on with 5 children. I told him I’m posting a review & he got loud saying I’m threatening him. I told him its not a threat. I’m putting this frustrating situation in writing so people can see how he does business. He told me that this made his decision & hung up on me. I called back & no answer. I left a message saying how unprofessional he is. The Red Horse Inn, Landrum has gorgeous rooms & breathtaking vistas!

"No need to look any further. "

10.0

A picturesque inn, historically appointed rooms with tasteful decor. Comfy beds in beautiful rooms are good reasons to stay here but it was the staff that set this place apart. During our stay we had van trouble and received news from home about a death in the family. This is when the staff really began to shine. Mary in the breakfast room promptly arranged for a superb mechanic to assess and repair our van. While our van was being repaired the front desk staff took over and did everything in their power to comfort us and make us feel like family. Kim, Monica, Jennifer, Mary, Linda and Chelsea I don't think we could have gotten through this week without your kindness and care. We are truly blessed to have met you. Even the inn keeper whom we'd never met went out of their way to help us through our trying times. Tryon is lovely but this inn is worth visiting for the spectacular service that goes above and beyond even the 5 star hotels I've stayed at around the globe. About the rooms: internet good enough for nextflix, fireplaces are an added touch, spotlessly clean, complimentary port and sherry in the library, walking distance to town, inviting lobby with a baby grand piano, rocking chairs on the porch that overlook the well manicured garden, complimentary coffee, tea and sweets available all day, I could go on but you need to experience this place for yourselves. You won't be disappointed.

Accommodated me for a last minute trip with my mother. Wonderful grounds. Beautiful main house. Roomy and clean cottage. Quaint town with classic downtown shops. Thanks Kim! We plan to visit again. :-)
