Open Hearth Inn

Dan was a great host. Even has kayaks that guests can use and he drops them off for you. Great location just outside Arcadia National Park. Bed was very comfortable. We stayed in the inn and our room had a nice living room area in addition to the bedroom.

Clean, good location, friendly staff. Sugar bakery is right across the street for easy access to fresh baked pastry & coffee. Efficient seamless check in and check out. Dan assisted us with our requests during our 4 days stay, he was professional, friend, helpful - I would recommend open hearth.

We stayed in Lodge B located on the second floor of a building located on the property. It is one big room with a very comfortable king size bed and a futon that could also be used for sleeping. There is a small kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and toaster. For a tea drinker there is a kettle that boils water. The only inconvenience is there is no kitchen sink, so it felt odd washing coffee mugs in the bathroom sink. There is ample room in the bathroom with an abundant supply of very cozy towels. Overall our stay at the Open Hearth Inn was very pleasant.

The cottage was perfect for our needs. We felt like we stepped back in time - very cute and comfortable. Great location - close to everything. We would definitely stay again!

The location was very good, out of the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor but close enough to Acadia National park, Ellsworth has grocery stores and restaurants. Staff was responsive, friendly and helpful. Amenities on site were family friendly, fire pit, volleyball, jenga, hot tub and some kayaks, we had Apt B which could sleep at least 6 people, and with the new owners it is now pet friendly. I would definitely go back to this location.

Loved the quaintness of staying in a 200 house with wood floors. Loved the common areas and the scenic setting. Internet was sketchy and wifi almost nonexistent in my room. No breakfast. No food or drink allowed in room. But check in was easy and no staff was on?site.
