Open Hearth Inn

We were in a lodge on the 2nd floor. Very spacious and had a fridge, toaster, electric kettle, coffee maker, microwave. I couldn’t get the fan to work, but there was a room ac that I used for a short time. The massage shower head was very nice as well. The only feedback I would say is that there was an unmarked speed bump between the office and the lodge and for my car which was quite low, i got jolt. A warning sign or road marking in a different color would have been nice. Our stay was comfortable.

Originally booked months ago for a wedding I. The area. I selected the pay at the property option for a 4 night stay. 2 weeks before my reservation, I was notified I had to pay in full within 48 hours or my reservation would be cancelled. There were no other hotels in the area so making the payment before I expected caused a lot of problems but I had no choice. Customer service was horrible and not understanding of my frustration with the conflicting policies. No accommodations made. Never asked if we needed anything. The room was okay but by a noisy road. Lots of spiders were also crawling out of a divide from the trim to the wall above our bed. Left a day early. Overall my worst experience to date.

Perfect little cottages close to the park with a super-friendly staff.

The employees are so welcoming and friendly, very accommodating. The cottages are small, but if you get a suite you will have alot more room. The location is great maybe 8 miles to Acadia and 10 or so miles to Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is such a tourist trap, but Ellsworth Maine is quite quaint with a nice selection of restaurants.

Our room was on the small side but it was just enough. Cute little touches throughout. Coffee, mugs, fridge, and microwave in room. Hot tub was great. Outdoor kitchen added beni. Close neighbors but no issues with noise.

Very quaint facility. Bed was comfortable enough. Room was well appointed with amenities. Negatives: Very noisy. I stayed in the lodge which was on an extremely bust side street and traffic started at 5:30 am. Also, the local airport for scenic rides is close by and scenic flights start at 7 am. If you are a light sleeper, DO NOT reserve a lodge room. One other negative - I could not get ample hot water in the shower even late afternoon. Otherwise, excellent location convenient to Bar Harbor, and neighboring communities. Excellent choice of seafood restaurants in immediate vicinity.

Room was very dark. Sloping ceilings guaranteed banging head consistently. Staff was friendly.

The Open Hearth cottages are quaint and cozy. The communal outdoor kitchen made cooking and eating very convenient. The hot tub was very clean and set amongst tropical plants in a sun room - perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking in Acadia. The Innkeeper was very friendly, informative and went out of his way to offer what we needed. Volleyball net, communal campfire, deck tables make the place a wonderful place to find community while the cottages give privacy - something for everyone.

This is a great place to stay, free parking on site but close to Bar Harbor and Acadia park without the parking hassles of those places. Everyone working at the Inn is extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of places to sit outdoors and a wonderful hot tub. Would definitely stay here again.
