Free beach! After spending some time in Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and Tulum, we were pleasantly surprised that you can actually go to the beach and use the beach beds without paying anything (granted you're a guest of the hotel). The beach is nice and calm with a clay-like bottom that almost feels like mud when you step on it. There is a long reef barrier that makes this "lagoon" with very warm water and no waves. Great for splashing around and paddleboarding but there is almost no visibility due to the clay on the bottom. You can venture about 100 meters to the reef and see some nice underwater life in the "actual" sea. It is quite sketchy getting there, though.

There was an issue with the gas stove not working the first day due to the gas tank being empty. This was promptly corrected the next day. Additionally, the wifi didn't work in our room, which was also promptly resolved. We were on the third floor and there is no elevator so get ready to climb some stairs.

The property is in front of the beach, the apartment had good space and a huge balcony. The restaurant below had great food and friendly staff.
