Thunderbird Motel

When you're in Dodge city, there's only one place to stay and that's the Thunderbird Motel. The owners, Stanley and Donna do a fantastic job! Rooms are impeccably clean and the motel itself is iconic and is located conveniently close to all attractions. Wonderful people and a wonderful place to stay! Greg

I am a pilot car that works in the wind energy field. Over several years we have stayed here. It's a older motel but clean and comfortable. The owners, Stan and Donna make you feel at home. I was with a load yesterday and had a breakdown and was towed to Dodge City. I called and Donna remembered me. When I was dropped off she had the room I always liked for me. Always a pleasant stay.

A buget motel but very clean. The mattress was 1/2 solf and 1/2 hard. Not sure why. Think it needs to be replaced. Could used weather stripping around entrance door as one can see daylight around the door. Not good in the winter. The owner was cheerful and friendly. Suggested I eat at the Casino where one could get a prime rib. I did and had one of the best prime rib dinners to talk about.

We arrived in the dark and LOVED the sign on the highway - a blast from the past! The owners were great and the room was clean - but the hotel is quite dated. Not really cute and dated, just kind of old and dated. Again, I felt it was clean, and the owners made us feel quite welcome, but I did think the room fee was totally random, and not as inexpensive as I would have thought. I would guess that if I asked the guests on both sides of us, everyone would have paid a different amount!

First, the little lady at the front desk is so cheerful and happy...very good vibes. There are HUGE old plants growing and I think that's neat. My room has two beds w memory foam, a tv with lots of channels, a heated bathroom, microwave and fridge . Last night I slept on springs so I'm totally getting spoiled! Thanks for the great stay !

I have a wildlife fencing com!pany and we work across the country, often spending 200 nights in motels a year. I always look for a very clean motel with great service and excellent internet service in a location with lots of restaurants nearby, but also with refrigerators and microwaves in every room. We require a safe, quiet location where we can be comfortable for a week or more, and the price MUST be reasonable! The Thunderbird Inn meets all our requirements, and out visit was outstanding. American owners were everything I could ask for!

Clean rooms, friendly owners, great price. No frills motel, but the nostalgia took me back to my family's cross country vacations in the 1960's and early 1970's. I expected to see a wood grain station wagon pull in at any time

The worst ever!!! No really, ever!!! I actually think the bathrooms was the cleanest part of the room. Super old building and NASTY carpet. Sticky, dirty, breeding ground of a carpeted flooring mess!!! Need shoes on the entire time!!! Wouldn't let a wild animal eat off the floor!!! I've stayed in the real roach motels in my day, and this place is only 1 step better, because of the lack of roaches!!! I feel bad because the owners seemed super nice, but work needs to be done people!!!

We were looking for an economical motel for the night. Boy, did we find it and more. We walked into the lobby, but it was really a terrarium. The owners, Donna and Stan, are great and friendly folks. They even showed us their living apartment. The whole place was very clean, neat and organized. They are very hard workers. We will stay there again.

If this hotel is the 13th best in Dodge City I'd hate to see the other four. We'd had a lot of luck that trip with older, unique hotels but this was not one of them. The pillows were yellow. The floor was sticky. The neighbors were sketchy. Simply put, it was filthy. The man at the front desk was very nice though.
