The George Washington - A Wyndham Grand Hotel

The staff were friendly, the ambience, look and feel of the hotel was really good

A spur of the moment, stop in Winchester, Virginia to fortunately getting an amazing suite at the George Washington Hotel in downtown Winchester. The accommodations were superb, the staff, unbelievablyprofessional, yet very kind, showing how happy they were with your presence. This will not be the last time we stay at the George Washington hotel Westminster!

This place is just beautiful, quaint and elegant. Loved the quaint town!

There was nothing I didn't like.

Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean!

Only one elevator was operating. So we had to use the stairs for most of the weekend. There was a large wedding in the hotel on Saturday. The music from the wedding in our room on the 2nd floor was excessively loud. Suggestion would be to put wedding attendees in the rooms over the ballroom so you aren't disrupting guests who want a quieter experience.

It was in a nice location

Our air conditioning quit the first night. They fixed it and it went out again the second night. The toilet backed up and overflowed I called the front desk and nobody came after 25 minutes. Walked down to front desk and talked to someone and had it resolved shortly after. The toilet paper holder fell off the wall as it was barely holding on. The bathroom blind/ curtain was broken and couldn't be opened. One of the elevators broke our first night and was not repaired during our stay. Parking is not great we left for dinner and had to pay to park in the parking garage when we got back after already paying for the lot parking with no refund. There are no changing rooms for the pool. We got a pizza from the on site pizza place. The meat tasted bad and was terrible overall. Some staff was polite and helpful others acted like they were clueless and being bothered when asked for help. I've had much better experiences from lesser rated hotels in the area. Next time we will just Uber to and from one of the other hotels in the area.

Suite is fantastic. I enjoyed the fireplace and comfortable beds. Lobby is nice. Free coffee.

I booked a king suite with a bathtub but I was given a shower instead. I asked and was told the only option if I wanted a bathtub was to downgrade to a junior suite. I was also surprised that housekeeping did not vacuum one day even though there were lots of obvious crumbs on the floor (I have a toddler). The next day they vacuumed but missed some spots.

We stayed here for our wedding night. The room was really nice and spacious. The champagne and chocolate covered strawberries that were awaiting our arrival in the fridgerator were so good. The jetted tub was relaxing the next morning after our big day the day before.

Room service took a little while and we needed to call and extend our check out time by an hour. First front desk person said we don't do that anymore then put us on hold. Second person said no problem we can offer you an additional hour. Also the extra $15 parking fee seemed a bit greedy and excessive for a surface open lot where we parked our own car even.

Nice quiet room

The classic old world feel of the entire property. Linens, private bath, spaciousness of room! And my facial at the spa was a big win
