"Not what was expected"

Gardens

The french door opened to the gardens - so good EXCEPT and reported - the one row of edging stones outside the door were all loose and came away as you stepped on them - just asking for a nasty fall or strain. The shower floor was so slimy when wet - it was a skating ring - once again all it needed was a good clean. Both not to be expected of a 4 star hotel. Reception - lots of flight crews - absolutely fine to wait for them to check out - given a warm biscuit. Then us - a part of 4 staying in NZ for a month and 1 with mobility issues - no offer of porterage or a trolley. Breakfast - poor really and so loud and busy with tepid food. Sorry to sound like a moaning minnie but it was just one thing after another that let the hotel down.

"A reasonable stay, but would unlikely stay again."

Good size.

Hotel was a bit dark and dated. When sleeping twin, (beds separated) they were single beds, too small. Bathroom door squeaked, not great in the middle of the night when another sleeping. The bedroom door couldn’t be shut completely.

The dining roon was nice & the food good, love the fire place

Needed to take 2 lifts to get to our room, beer was poured in a glass straight out of the dishwasher so warm & one of my drinks the glass had a huge crack around it, staff took ages to clear tables of empty dishes & glasses
