The Lakes Resort Cairns

Établissement tres vieillissant. A notre arrivée logement pas tres propre (douche sale cuisine sale) Vaisselles sales, casseroles et poêles tres tres abîmées . Une télévision dans une chambre sans télécommande. La piscine est tres abîmée, le fond est a refaire entièrement. Quel dommage!

The size of the room, BBQ and swimming areas. Security for the complex. Staff are very helpful

The beds could do with mattress pillow toppers. The drunk lady in the unit block next door complaining about noise coming from another unit at 7.30pm.

Spacious. Nice enough alfresco area.

From the moment we checked in (Friday 6pm) till the moment we checked out on Sunday morning, reception was closed. I did not see a single staff member during the entire day. Our floor smelled extremely badly of two minute noodles and a curry. We were in apartment 1314. The restaurant was always closed. The exhaust fan from the laundry was extremely loud and we did not realise that it could be turned off so the first night was unpleasant. Several of the light switches were very unclean in the bathroom and toilet area. It wasn’t clear to us when we booked that the resort also houses permanent guests. It’s not a pure resort as expected.

Location was fantastic , situated right next to the Botanical Gardens. Property was very spacious.

I didn’t like that one of the bedrooms did not have any wardrobe/cupboards for clothes storage.

The central Location close to airport was easy however noisy as well

So difficult to find our apartment in the dark when we first arrived. There wasn’t enough information. Also tenants above us had an all night party and there’s no one there to stop them. Not manned on the weekends! Or just won’t answer the phone. We had a cockroach infestation in the kitchen which was dirty and not well stocked with utensils etc. Bed linen was clean but only a blanket, it still gets cold in Cairns! Really disappointed after paying for an upmarket location only to find it’s dated and dirty.

The apartment was nice and a good size, it had all the appliances we needed. There are on site pools and it’s a secure gated community.

The reception is closed at a weekend, so no one is there to sort any issues, if you message they don’t respond until Monday. The WiFi password they supply is incorrect and even when they send the updated one it’s still wrong. They ask what room configuration you want for the bedrooms and then put you in an apartment that can’t be setup that way. You wonder why for 4 people there is not enough dishes or cutlery until you open the dishwasher and inside is dirty dishes & cutlery covered in mould. Spoke to Reception staff re these issues but they were not interested in hearing about issues.
