Sol Palmanova Mallorca

Great time!!! great location, hotel and food with many thanks to the entertainment staff who put on better shows than the hired acts and worked hard to include us in everything thanks will definitely return :-)

The Sol Mirlos Tordos actually exists of two buildings and it is only when you try and check in at the nicer (newer) of the two that you then realise that you are in the building next door. It is a real shame that you are not given the choice when booking as we would have paid a small premium to be in the nicer hotel. The rooms in the Tordos look absolutely nothing like the pictures you see on the websites. Reception staff are ok, but do not expect them to go out of their way to be helpful. Rooms in Tordos look like they have not been decorated since the 1980's, very uncomfortable beds & pillows. No extras, televisions in rooms about 20 years old. But you can use facilities in both "hotels", so we ate mostly in the Mirlos as better quality - still very much canteen food, surprising that they did not even bother to have a Spanish evening! Yes there are a surprising amount of very selfish people who go down at the crack of down and put their claim to sun loungers / umbrellas, and that was just the Brits! Both pools very small considering the number of guests, and this was in September. There are a number of sunloungers, but the condition of these can be changeable. Evening entertainment, was not too bad, and it was lovely to be able to sit outside. If you go expecting a cheap and cheerful 2* hotel you would be ok.

Changed rooms 3 times. Beds extremely uncomfortable, they squeak every time you roll over, waking you up, sleeping on the floor would have been more comfy. The standard of food was fairly poor, they never seem to change the food, lunch and dinner is pretty munch the same every day. Air conditioning is good as long as you get a room where it works. When complaining about things, be prepared to have to ask 3-4 times before anything is done.

We stayed at hotel Mirlos for a short 4 night getaway and overall were very happy. Rooms were clean and simple, nice balcony. Buffet food got a bit repetitive but was great for grabbing easy breakfast and lunch. Nice pool and good location to beach/ shops.

Don't expect 4star ... It is exactly what it says, 3 star hotel . Food ok ..hotel standard ok .. Facilities ok .. Entertainment ok.. Rooms ok. Big negative and probably only reason I wouldn't stay again, if you are not up before 6.30 am forget having a sun lounger around the pool ..!! Its actually REALLY bad ...

Inside we were all cramp in like the three bears . No room at all. Pool in the wrong place ( shaded by the building) Same horrable food every night

Hotel is in a great location for access to the beach, Palma Nova shops, bars and restaurants and the coastline walk. Hotel is basic but you get what you pay for. Food is adequate for the price, there are freshly cooked fish and meat options for both lunch and dinner. No dodgy tummies had which is a bonus! If you just want a cheapish deal in a basic clean hotel in a good location, Sol Mirlos is the ideal choice. The lifts can get busy so take the stairs where possible. Pool area is very busy so if peace is required use the beach which is nearby. We also had a situation with a leaky bathroom ceiling on our last night. One member of staff felt we could live with it until the next day when an engineer would be available to repair. Luckily another member of staff realised we needed another room and duly obliged.

Staff very friendly, bar and restaurant was fab,only downside could do with couple extra lifts, but saying that it didn't really bother our group as we are young enough to use the stairs !

Arrived on Friday at 1am to be greeted by the most unwelcoming and unhelpful mail receptionist very disappointed. Luckily this was a one off as all the rest of the staff were very nice. Food is good, drinks very strong not watered down. Entertainment team worked very hard deserve a medal, kids club okay u do have to pay extra for the kids party. Very clean hotel, rooms small though snacks have to be eaten in the restaurant would of been better to have an outside snack bar for the kids overall enjoyed our stay.
