Makai Beach Lodge

Budget friendly oceanfront rooms. The hotel is older and and that was fine by me, but cigarette butts were left in a dirty coke can and on the balcony, the walls were dirty with other people's hair and so was the floor. One walk, barefoot through the room, and my feet were black and sandy, and I hadn't gone to the beach yet. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and helpful. The lamps were so rusty I was afraid to plug anything into them, however, I know they were hit by Hurricane Ian and as such, are still rehabilitating the hotel. The room should have been cleaner though, and that is what I didn't like. It was as if the floor hadn't been mopped in a long time. The beds were fine though.

The facilities were awesome around the property. Everything looked good. Their property needs some cosmetic care.

My room had a kitchenette that had a door that simply lead to the other room next . Definitely unsafe and unsure. Toilet was wobbly. Bed was old and bowled in

So, I have to say that this was a very last minute booking on a busy weekend. It is right on the beach lending to a beautiful view. That being said the room seemed fairly clean (not to my personal liking - I didn’t feel comfortable eating in there) extremely old, dated and patched together. It is in severe need of an upgrade in every indoor area. The staff were very nice. The outside pool area was decent.

The place was nasty even refugees in a war zone wouldn't stay here not even 1 picture match the reality. Roaches a lot. A homeless under a bridge is better off than this

The staff and employees were very nice easy to talk to. You had no problem explaining any question that I had I did not feel like I was an inconvenience. However, our room was loaded with cockroaches, and I do understand and taken into consideration that they had just started remodeling. They’re on the beach TV and having roaches scurry across it was horrifying other than the toilet, not flushing which they were willing to come and check, but we asked them not to because we did have dogs with us not that our dogs would cause any disruption but because we were so busy we did not want the dogs to be nervous or to get scared The roaches were a huge turn off

Great view from balcony room. Room clean. Hot water in shower and plenty of it. Hotel is slightly dated but every time I go back it looks like repairs and upgrading are being done. Enjoyed the Hot tub and pool. Had the basics needed for breakfast.

It was very clean

I would like a refund because I checked out a night early because there were bugs in the bedroom. So I would like a refund for 1 night please
