"Good location, good overall value"

8.0

Nothing superb, but overall value given the price was ok and I would go there again, and location is quite good to get to places like Tian an Men or Forbidden City. Free internet and Gym were ok. Breakfast buffet quite expensive, if you do not want it all rather have individual dishes.

"A nice stay at Beijing"

10.0

I choose this hotel as it was conveniently located near to my conference venue. I thought staying at a "Chinese" establishment intead of well known European brand hotels will be a nice experience. I was not disappointed with my expectations. The facilities at the hotel, comfort of the room were excellent. The staff were courteous and very helpful. I would like to stay again in the same hotel, if i travel again to Beijing. The hotel is in the central / main location in Beijing, the famous Wanfujing shopping area is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. if one likes to do a good walk, one can enjoy walking to the Forbidden city, Tiananmen square.. which i did. From the airport, by taxi one can reach the hotel. It costs about 100 RMB. Being a pure vegetarian, my only challenge was with respect to food, which is not related to the hotel, but a natural challenge for a traveller to the "Oriental" china.

"Old times luxury at the heart of Beijing"

10.0

The hotel appears old but looks recently renovated. Its luxury style with marble and mahogany interior gives a feeling of old luxury hotels for westeners on the soviet era. The room was stylish and comfortable but the cleaning was not always top notch. Carpets in hallways were in need of cleaning. In overall the cleanliness was however quite satisfactory. The rooms were very large to European standards. The TV had over 60 channels but only one with English language. Plenty of restaurants nearby for dinner or lunch. Everything at the hotel is quite expensive, had a cup of coffee and a couple of drinks at the lobby bar and the bill was - wow! The staff is very very friendly but speak very limited English. Be patient, speak slowly and use simple basic words and you will be understood. We were very satisfied in overall, the only major issue was badly working air conditioning. We complained about it a couple of times but I guess they could not do anything about it.

"Very good for the price"

8.0

There was some confusion as to whether we had reserved a double room or twin - it seemed that what we call a double is considered to be a twin. However, we did end up with a double bed in an upgraded room as they didn't have any available standard 'doubles'. I'm not sure if there was a confusion or not over the room type but we were certainly happy with what we ended up with!

"Average hotel"

6.0

Staff was friendly but have limited ability to speak English. The bellboy had a better grasp of English than the reception's staff (including the manager). The bellboy had also helped us to grab a taxi off the street to get us to the Beijing South Railyway station on the day we're leaving. I can say the staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean but the bed was hard. The daily room 'cleaning' service wasn't great as the bath gel and shampoos were not replaced or topped up. Towel wasn't changed all the time. We stayed there for 5 nights. The hotel was close to a police station and the area seems to be quite 'safe'. However the hotel is a bit far away from any of the Beijing Subway stations. If you don't mind taking taxis all the time, then this shouldn't be a problem, otherwise I would recommend finding a hotel that is a lot closer.

"Great service!"

10.0

We found that the service was great. The people spoke English well enough to communicate with us. We used their travel service to book a private tour to the Great Wall which was wonderful. We had difficulties with our TV and internet and both times they sent someone to our room within 10 minutes and quickly fixed the problems. It was a great experience and I would stay there again for sure!

"Quality hotel in central Beijing."

10.0

This is as good as any hotel I have ever stayed in. I have no complaints at all. I stayed for a total of 5 nights in two blocks (I think). After the first time I was so impressed by the value that I stayed again some days later. It was certainly excellent value when booked on Expedia. This is especially so when compared to the cost of rooms in major hotels in my country. My only small irritation was finding a good venue for breakfast in that part of the city in the morning. While the hotel offers an excellent breakfast finding a range of alternatives within easy walking distance is a small issue.

"More training needed"

Very good location for the city center and the central train station. Very polite staff but need some more professional training.
