The Balinese

Reception was closed most of our stay. No one to welcome their guests. A mobile ph contact was available to answer any questions, however no one answered it until 15mins before check in time of 2pm. Free light continental breakfast at 8am (prior to our flight home,) didn't have any milk provided (fridge was locked) Therefore we had no breakfast which was the reason for our booking. Reception was still closed despite the opening hours being stated as 6am.

For the price we paid, the room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was continental help yourself style which suited us. Staff were very accommodating.

Very brief stay over 9 hours only All was ok except the smoke alarm battery failed at 4am and it started bleeping every 20 seconds from then on. Very annoying, perhaps the batteries should be automatically replaced at regular intervals. Everything else was ok

Pretty average. But convenient location as it is closer to the airport and CBD. Room facilities are very minimum, bed condition is below average. Room is very dark even with all the lights on. TV, AC ok. Breakfast is very basic.

This hotel has clearly had a change of management and no longer deserves the positive recommendations. It is chea pand has little else going for it

Stay was fine although we did add a request when booked re my wife's dietary requirements for breakfast as she is gluten intolerant as we didn't receive a response I thought it would be catered for. Then at breakfast discovered there was no food options for her with the woman in the office being very abrupt. It would have been appreciated if they simply emailed back advising that they don't cater for food Intolerance.

A modest setup a long walk from town and midway between bus stops. Do it yourself breakfast was spartan. Kitchen was empty and bread and milk gone after 10am but open until 9:30 at night. Convenience store over the road was short on variety and had no decent coffee. TV remote was semi functional. Wardrobe door off its track. Everything else in the room was OK.

Pity noisy customers but not the hotels fault . Communal kitchen is great as one gets sick of eating out all the time . Rusty,s farmers market opens Fri,Sat ,Sun and enjoyed having fresh home cooked dinners Love Cairns and the Balinese is a great small hotel in which to stay while there , thankyou
