The Inn at Stonecliffe

This luxurious hotel was absolutely amazing coupled with the highly trained and expert hospitality staff. The views are amazing and the beds are so comfortable. We loved all of the little touches from homemade chocolate chip cookies left out on the table every day to the candy cart at 7:04 PM every day And fresh s’mores offered at 6:30 every night. They truly cater to a higher and clientele the service was impeccable and the staff is always smiling and so nice, you can tell the team is so happy to be there and they seem to be well taken care of. The grounds are immaculate and it’s very easy to access town via bike, horse carriage, or even to walk it. It’s really not that far. The only thing I would caution against is coming in May via the ferry because you have to deal with a horrible millions of bugs in transit, and it can be very traumatic, If you don’t know what you’re in for. I just wish I would’ve known in order to be prepared for it, it might’ve been easier to take.

A Hidden Gem on Mackinac Island! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment we arrived at The Inn at Stonecliffe, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality that made our stay truly unforgettable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect, offering friendly service and genuine care that made us feel right at home. Honestly- every single team member is amazing. So professional- how a resort/hotel should be run- every guest treated with respect and every question or concern addressed. The absolute "gold standard" of a resort. From Molly who answered my questions immediately via email to check in and our stay- every team member is amazing. But we do need to give a shout out to Morgan who served us at " The Straits" - she really needs to be the resort's Ambassador- she sold my husband on a fantastic steak when he was just going to get an appetizer as a meal. We ran into her throughout our stay and she was interacting with every guest like she did us- hilarious and amazing. The entire staff acknowledged us wherever we went and always asked if there was anything we needed. The Sunny Honey Cottage was an absolute dream—cozy, beautifully decorated, and filled with charming touches that made it feel like a private retreat. Waking up to the peaceful surroundings and stepping outside to breathtaking views of the Straits of Mackinac was pure magic. The entire property exudes elegance and tranquility, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Whether relaxing on the mansion’s backyard that faces the Mackinac Bridge or exploring the scenic grounds, every moment was a delight. If you're looking for a place that combines luxury, history, and outstanding service, The Inn at Stonecliffe is the place to be. We can't wait to return

Very good hotel!

Beautiful setting in completely refurbished hotel. Decor is gorgeous l. Lawns with best hammocks ever are idyllic. Back patio with cozy furniture and blankets and available fire pits amazing. General store convenient. Beware the pricey and undisclosed $77 daily resort fees and add on city tax. Backyard pizza kitchen terrific. The Straits restaurant is very expensive with limited menu. Rooms are great and staff welcoming. It IS a 40 minute carriage ride to and from town at $11 pp each way. We brought our bikes instead and never used carriage - There is one big hill by Grand Hotel that I simply walked bike. Bring bike lights or headlamps as roads are dark at night but bike ride is 10 min to town & 20 minutes back. Great Island setting away from everything except the gorgeous views!

Cant even have a pet on the lawn; although all the while there is horse poop dust everywhere. All the employees zoom by on ebikes nearly hitting you and ruining the classic friendly feel mackinac generally has to offer. I wouldbnot reccommend this place if you want to have a genuine friendly mackinac visit

The property is amazing and the has a perfect view of the Mackinac bridge. The buildings are all immaculate and you could not ask for more friendly and helpful staff. They offer several options for meals on the property and have many fire pits in the backyard for evening enjoyment. They also have lots of games available to play in the backyard area. There are several oversized hammocks in the shaded front yard for relaxing in as well. Perfect place to getaway and enjoy the peach and quiet (no automobiles allowed on the entire island).

Beautiful property and setting. Gorgeous really. Not fan of use of horses in island we have technology to get emission free transport… do not like that horses have to drag visitors and everything around here. Time to change that… say no to horse slavery.

The gardens and rooms were great. They had activities and fun stuff to do for kids. Very quiet and peaceful. We had a great time with the food and exploring. The room was clean and very well lit when we arrived. The service at the desk was great. My family enjoyed very much.
