It’s just so hot in the room. Zero control over the thermostat and was just completely uncomfortable and unable to sleep. Front desk was no help.

I was aware the hotel was under renovation so expected some minor challenges or confusion, but when I checked in I was given keys to our room. I got to the room and it had never been cleaned. I returned to the desk and the same person who checked me in didn’t remember me from 5 minutes prior. I was interrupting her while she was eating at the desk and made me feel like I was really inconveniencing her. She did give me keys to another room which appeared to have been a conference room converted into a room. We couldn’t get the TV to work so I called the front desk, but no one answered so I returned to the desk. I was told there were new TV remotes and I’d just have to figure it out. I might have even tried, had it not been for her attitude throughout this process, however said I’d just as soon move on and since we hadn’t even sat on a bed asked for my money back. She said fine, advised my account would be refunded and I’d see it in 5-7 days. We went next door to the Holiday Inn Express which was great. 10 days later, seeing no refund I called the Hilton customer service line, told them my story, they put me on hold to call the hotel and then got back on and confirmed my stay was to be refunded by the hotel and that the hotel manager would be calling me. A few days later still nothing so I called back, spoke to someone else, they pulled up my case number, put me on hold then got back on and said I’d be called by the hotel manager by the end of the day. No call. I did get an email from Hilton Customer Service apologizing and giving me several thousand points. I called back, said I didn’t want points. This time the person on the phone apologized profusely and said he was cutting me a check on behalf of Hilton that day. Told me to wait 10 days or so for it and gave me his information in case I didn’t receive it. I got the check today and that guy kept me as a Hilton customer (not a FarmVille customer). Again, I expected renovation, etc., but I would have assumed customer service would be stellar just to make up for travelers inconvenience. Hampton Inn tends to be out hotel of choice for personal travel. This is the first one I have ever given a negative review to.

The most important ting you need to know, and should be, is the bed. The best is the BEST of any hotel i have stayed. The comfort of it, the firmness, and the NOT worn in PIT in the center like just about everywhere else on earth. Housekeeping was genuinely helpful and sincere. Only pros. The Holiday Inn, next door, is the same owner. So the pool, laundry and gym doesn't exist at Hampton. However the day before we left, after the 5 days we were there, we were "let in" on the set-up by a couple of the NATO soldiers who were in for training with the Army to confirm their gear will "work-together" flawlessly, that it was okay for them to go use the other amenities the rest of the guests were not informed. WE had to walk thru the lobby with no visqueen/plastic hanging over doorways of rooms being jack-hammered to keep the dust off the food, coffee cups, furniture, you know because we ALL KNOW spackle and concrete dust doesn't LAY EVERYWHERE!! THEN you have guests waiting for coffee because the spanish and russian speaking workers are DRINKING it, EATING the comped breakfast GUESTS paid for. Then, THEN, there were no outside lights, Hit the air UP, and it turns to heat. And bring earplugs unless you want to subconsciously hear high pitch all night. The shower, ZERO pressure, POINT it up so at least gravity will let you rinse your hair. AND be careful, because the complete overkill showers floor is slick. You should stay here!!

The property is under construction! I drove 2 hrs from the airport! To see a sign that say go around the back to a sign on the door to call somebody! The guy answers the phone and says, are you outside and I said yes, he comes to open the door. I walk into an hallway and the entire floor is under recon construction! Then he escorts me into the kitchen area to check me in! I was asked to leave a $25.00 incidental fee !! In the kitchen area of where the guy checked me in all the tables and mainly the chairs were disgustingly dirty. The table where you get breakfast had all kinds of boxes stored under the table and the table cloth did not properly fit table as you were able as stated to see all boxes under the table!! This was horrendous and unacceptable! Please assist, I am asking for a full refund and another stay at one of your hotels! I have pics.
