Hampton Inn Farmville

The property was overall clean. It is very out dated compared to other Hampton Inns. It needs a makeover to compete with the others in the area.

Breakfast was good and the tv selection was good.

Heat didn't work couldn't reach staff because phones went out but did not know that this was the case until next day when we complained about not reaching housekeeping or front desk. It would have been nice if guests was notified previously that phones were out. Although I also went to desk, there was no one there prior to calling. Luckily we bought extra towels with us. Additionally the lights went out the day we arrived which as we stated (put the phones out which wasn't aware until next day about phones) and the bulbs were out in our room at entrance way and by bed. The lightning sucked!

We have stayed here many times. It’s usually our go to hotel when we are in town. This time we weren’t happy with the overall cleanliness. We found roaches in the bathroom. There was mildew around the tub. The bedding had two large brown stains on the top cover. The television has a large black line through the middle which made watching tv unpleasant. We stayed in room 313.

We always enjoy our stay at this hotel. The staff is great and the facilities are clean, the beds are comfortable. However, it’s beginning to get a little worn down. The banquet seating in the breakfast area was completely worn out, the chair in the room had a hole in the upholstered arm, the darkening shade wouldn’t close completely.We like the hotel a lot but they need to spruce up the furnishings abit.

This hotel desperately needs renovations. The outside of the hotel looks nice however from the moment you walk in you can tell it’s completely outdated. The staff was nice but the hallways and elevator weren’t that clean. When I got to my room (RM301) it had that old musty cigarette smoke smell. As if they hadn’t cleaned the walls or replaced the carpet in years. Even down to the wallpaper it was bad. Below you can see the mold in my shower and the horrible patch work. Though the bed seemed clean and comfortable, I didn’t trust the cleanliness of the bathroom, so I went to Walmart and purchased some shower shoes and my own towel and washcloth. I only stayed because I only had to stay 1 night but I would have absolutely changed hotels had I needed to be in the area a longer time. As someone that was a Hilton diamond member for 6 consecutive years I was extremely disappointed.
