"Prima, maar zorg dat je er niet bent op vrijdag, zaterdag en zondag."

6.0

Mooie zwembaden en leuke kidsclub met leuke vriendelijke dames!

We verbleven 4 nachten.

"Safety Hazard & Major Service Decline: Raccoon Bite, Hidden Fees, and "Shrinking" Resort"

2.0

Pros: Entertainment Team: They were the only bright spot. Energetic and easy to join in for pool activities. Tip: The sushi-making class only holds 6 people, so get there very early. The Pool: Physically beautiful, and we didn't have trouble finding chairs. Cons (The Reality): SAFETY ALERT: I was bitten by a raccoon at the snack bar. Upon returning home to Canada, I have had to undergo a grueling series of 18 shots for Rabies and Tetanus. The wildlife at the snack bars is aggressive and the resort is not doing enough to manage the safety risk to guests. The "Shrinking" Resort: Since we booked, half of Coba has been remodeled and turned into "Tequila" (Adults-Only). As Coba guests, we lost access to half the property, and all previous benefits to the Tulum sister resort (like the buffet and extra pool) have been stripped away. You are paying for a full resort and getting half of one. Room Logistics: We were a family of 5, yet were given two rooms with King beds. It was an exhausting battle to get them to change this. Additionally, Building 5 is a 15-minute walk to the lobby—expect to spend your vacation waiting for shuttles or trekking in the heat. "All-Inclusive" Hidden Fees: Not truly all-inclusive. The lobby pool tables and arcades cost $4 USD per game. Service & Bar Stalls: The pools close at 6:00 PM. During the day, there was often only one bartender at the bars, leading to massive lineups. Tip: Bring your own Bubba keg or you'll be ordering 3 drinks at a time just to avoid the 20-minute wait. The Dining "Bribe": The buffet is poor and the snack bar is even worse. To get an A la Carte, you must book 10 days in advance or "bribe" the staff by agreeing to buy a bottle of wine. Summary: This was a family trip that turned into a medical nightmare. Between the aggressive wildlife, the loss of resort amenities, and the constant "pay-to-play" feel, I would strongly advise families to look elsewhere. The Bahia Principe Grand Coba is no longer the value it once was.

"Bahia Principe Coba April 10-19, 2026"

6.0

This was our 21st visit and due to the merger with Hyatt all loyalty perks we had previously were not honored, despite booking before Sept 1, 2025. This was the Bahia deadline to receive Black level perks. This change was very disappointing we were only entitled to 3 a la cartes for a nine night stay, this only magnified the changes in food quality at the buffets, the refresh of trays was slow, food was very repetitive. For example in the morning no pinapple, even canteloupe hard to find, Bacon handed out two strips at a time. Even the 3 a la cartes we booked were not the way it used to be, the staff seemed rushed and overworked, this was especially true at Mikado, the Japanese table show. The biggest let down was the food on this trip, and the great food is the reason we visited Bahia Coba, Tulum and Akumal 21 times. It saddens me that these changes have affected such a great resort, one that we considered our second home. The rooms were great as usual, pools great, lounge bar disappointing, out of Baileys on 2 occasions, no top brand alcohol or sipping tequila or 43 alcohol, these were never out on previous visits. The only place to get blended drinks is the pool or lounge bar, this is a big change and not well received. The one improvement was the Tram drivers they were excellent, efficient great communication and never left us waiting long, many going out of their way to be helpful and take us where we needed to go, this was different from our visit in November where this was not the case . So huge shout out to that team...great work! We also come to this resort for the amazing staff.....many are very worried that Hyatt will do massive layoffs and they will lose their jobs. HARD TO SEE STAFF SO CONCERNED. This trip for us was underwhelming.....we have a booking for a Nov 2026 trip, but will likely be looking to cancel and book at another resort, mayve time to try something new. Of Note prices have gone way up and staffing much lower and food and drink quality lower, plus no loyalty equals look for new second home.... we wish Bahia well and hope these changes don't cause too many others to look elsewhere for their new vacation resort.

"Beyond All Expectations"

10.0

Our stay at Bahia Principe Grand Coba was absolutely unforgettable. The staff were warm, friendly, and always went above and beyond to make us feel cared for. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very well maintained. Concierge service was excellent, the bellhops worked tirelessly, and the trolley system made getting around the beautiful resort easy and convenient. The white sand beaches and grounds were immaculate. The food was always fresh and delicious, with fun themed dinners each night. The à la cartes felt elegant and top tier with flavorful meals every time. Drinks were a little light but always flowing. This resort gave us memories we will cherish forever. Sending love from Canada.

"Overall as expected but terrible check in experience!!!"

8.0

Overall the resort is good and what was as expected for me and my wife. Food- overall 3.5/5 Buffet was ok most nights and there was always something to eat and service was good. À la cartes, were ok with the Le Gourmet being the best and the other two not great. Room-overall 3/5 As expected for a Bahía property.. if you have been to a Bahía property that hasn’t been renovated recently it’s the same in every country. Bed was firm and service was good. Walls though are thin and if your neighbours suck then you’re in for a treat trying to sleep! Pool-overall 4/5 Lots of people and fun atmosphere. Chairs were readily available in shade till 10 am which was nice and different from other places were you need to get up early to save chairs. Pool bar was good and service was good. We also checked the out the Tulum and Akumail pools on different days and while those are more luxurious, drinks were the same but vide was less fun. I preferred Coba pool for the vibe more. Resort was well kept-no complaints Check in/check out 0/5 OMG we arrived around 12:30pm. There was a line of about 7 people ahead of us and 3 worker at the counter… took us 90 mins to check in!! When it was our turn it took over 15 mins… not sure if their computers are really slow or what but wow just terrible. And we did the pre check in. The whole time they are just working on the computer not saying anything and you’re left wondering why it’s taking so long for two people to check in and get their bracelets. This needs improvement big time as first impression really was terrible Day passes to other resorts-worth it to pay for a few days at the other resorts. It’s 20usd per day per person and you have to pay for all remaining days so best to wait till your last 2-3 days. Food at the tulum and akumal was not much different than the buffet at the coba but still nice for a change of scenery. You do not get access yo their à la cartes

"C'était beaucoup mieux avant !"

7.0

Etc. Etc.

"Resort was fine but will book closer to the beach at a different resort next time"

7.0

Great entertainment by the pool. Liked how they would not let people reserve pool chairs. Rooms were comfy. Buffet staff were great.

Night entertainment shows for families were to late at night . Not able to use facilities at other resorts had to pay for an upgrade wrist band. So if you go to the beach you have to go back to the resort to eat. Would have been nice if the coba had a store to pick up snacks( besides chips) that you could take to the beach. Also we were on the 3rd floor of building 14 … traffic noise like crazy.
