Fire Mountain Lodge

We stayed in a downstairs townhouse. It was comfortable, a little dark, but worked okay for a one night stay. A few negatives for us were that it was described as a two bath unit when it is really 1 and 1/2 baths. Not two full bathrooms. The 5 pm check in is a little late. One thing that would be helpful since there is no staff on site would be a notebook that gives information on the unit. We received an e-mail telling us how to get in, and some info on the unit such as how to enter the hot tub area, but not where the hot tub is located. We didn't find it. The coffee maker carafe was not the original one and did not fit the coffee maker. Consequently the water and coffee went everywhere except the carafe. Parking spaces are tight and could be a problem if you have a bigger vehicle.

I didn’t realize it was a two storey condo basically! It was so nice! The only thing I would recommend is having someone check the fireplace. It smelled like there was some extra gas in the air in the morning. There may possibly be a small leak. Other than that it was incredible.

Good bones for a condo style complex. The property is keep up nicely, however the unit we were in definitely was showing signs of general wear and tear. The dishwasher still had clean dishes in it at check in, not a big deal, but it seemed odd to leave them there. The parking is also reeeeally tight along the back side however we found additional parking at the top of the road nearby. All all we had a nice stay.

Big condo, had everything we needed and could enjoy drinks with no hassle from neighbors. Only thing that is bad is a check in of 5:00pm!

The place is large enough for us. The only problem we don't like is the smell of the house inside, specially the rooms down the stairs. It may be of the old carpets and the curtains installed that cause the smell. Have to check-in very late at 11pm since we came from Jasper and have to call the Security because we did not receive the e-mail with the code of the door to enter our suite, the security was very helpful though.

I actually like this place comparing to similar lodge with high rating and friendly staff. There is no staff on site, but the lodge capacity is limited which makes it feel much more privacy than a popular lodge. Every thing you need is there, some facilities are even above average quality and condition. I would choose this place over a place with staff on-site on my future trips, and the price is very competitive.

The good: nice views from the deck, modern looking apartment The bad: could use some cling film/tin foil in the kitchen. Call ahead as we didn’t receive an email for the condo unit # or door code. This was rectified with a phone call. The ugly: horrific mattress in the smaller of the 2 bedrooms. It squeaks like hell if you even blink and sinks in the middle. Terrible sleep quality, glad we had only booked 1 night.

Clean and lots of room for 2 families of 4. Comfortable beds.
