Highland Lake Inn & Resort - Flat Rock

We loved the mini lake where we took out the provided canoe and had a lovely sunset and morning paddle together! A bald eagle was hunting around and tons of lily pads. We also really appreciated the firepit being lit by the staff as we just happened upon it after one of the staff sweetly had started it and then took our paddles back to the office for us! The pool is clean and really all the fun amenities in a relaxed almost camp atmosphere.

Restaurant and bar closed pretty arbitrarily. Both nights we were there. Went to grab a snack and a beverage around 8:30 but closed.

Wonderful gem of a place! We booked a little cabin last minute and just cannot say enough about our experience. From the candles made by the owner to the beautiful grounds, we had a beautiful, relaxing visit. We did not have a reservation at the restaurant but they still managed to accommodate our family of 5. The food here is EXCELLENT. Our order ranged from fish to pork to steak and everyone was very happy with their meal. The staff made a fire in the pretty little fire pit and we sat around it talking and watching lightning bugs for hours. The rooms are simple but super clean and have everything you need. The rooms come with breakfast which was an additional treat. We loved our time here and look forward to returning soon!

Very nice grounds and comfortable large rooms

This property while beautiful is a camp not a resort! Coffee always cold as chunky mugs sitting under A/C so they are very cold - thus cold coffee . Noticing this is not rocket science. Dining room not open for lunch or dinner early in week. Never did see the lake! Great place for families with kids, not for pampering.

This couldn't have been a nicer trip. . . my only regret is that we only had two nights here! The breakfast is super and there was lots to do: Free usage of the canoes, kayaks and paddleboats. Swim in the lake or pool. Hammocks are set up for guests. They even lit a fire for us in the firepit and left wood for us to use. It was like summer camp but no dinner bell or arts and crafts. Dinner at Season's was top notch, along with the service. p.s. If I had known about Highland Lake Inn 20 years ago, I doubt our family would have done much tent camping!

This is a special and unique place! -a perfect getaway for families, friends, couples or even solo! Beautiful grounds, wonderful amenities, friendly and welcoming staff, clean and well-appointed accommodations, delicious breakfast…etc!

We had a great stay at Highland Lake! We were there for a family reunion and and everyone really enjoyed the experience. Our room at the lodge was well-equipped and cozy. During our stay we swam at the beautiful lake, hung out by the pool, had a great breakfast buffet everyday, used the well-equipped kitchens at the houses, walked the lovely grounds, played at the game room, had a bonfire, and attended the Tuesday farmer’s market. It was an idyllic experience.
