The rooms are like a room in your home. Its so homey and quaint

It was mind-blowing to me in a most positive way that they don't spray their grass with chemicals, so my young children could safely run and crawl on the lawns. This is awesome, and there were not too many bugs as my husband thought! They also have a little organic farm, and source their restaurant with produce from there. Clean and tasty food, another awesome thing. I wish the eggs for breakfast would be made consistently with ghee butter instead of other inflammatory seed oils too.

The rooms are a bit outdated, but it's like visiting your grandma, so it's ok. Fewer chemicals around made me happy, so the rest didn't bother me at all.

Accommodations in room 3 in the Woodward House were so comfortable. Highly recommend this inn & resort. The Seasons restaurant food was outstanding also quiet! Service excellent! The Seasons restaurant was excellent with great service and delicious food! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return to stay again.

I liked it when the rude employees and the lying employees went away and left us to our own devices because I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life. My son had to be taken to an urgent care clinic because he got some kind of infection all over him I’m literally ready to start suing people if I don’t get compensated Immediately and trust me I have proof of all this whatever my son got plus, my brother also got all over him from having to sleep on the couches that the people who did not provide the rollaway beds like they said they would.

I didn’t like the fact that I was lied to you over and over again I was told on the very first night that I was there because for some reason you at booking.com didn’t put that I had my son and my brother and only two people, but it was quickly fixed when the manager on duty, saw that my son came in with me. My husband came in with me. My brother came in with me and my dog mind you my service dog, and he said that it was all fine and have gave us our breakfast itineraries and so on and so forth so that he would make sure there was rollaway beds brought up nothing happened never got my breakfast never got the rollaway beds and now my son and my brother are paying for it with some kind of bacterial infection they got from sleeping at that place.

Place needs updating. Food was delicious but pricey for the dated places

Close in to town but still in the country with a beautiful lake and easy short hikes. Lots of restaurants to choose from but also eat-in with a nice open and covered porch overlooking the grounds. Comfy place with lots of birds softly singing Super nice staff 👍👍👍

A beautiful property with beautiful people in charge! The meal at Season's was marvelous.I had the trout and my friends had salmon and duck, all of which were also great according to them. The room in the Lodge was cozy, yet up to date. I will be back!!

We held a 4-day family reunion at Highland Lake Inn. Even though I already knew it was a wonderful place (from attending their terrific Thanksgiving buffet there every year), they really exceeded our expectations! The property provides a lovely natural setting. The cottage and cabins we stayed in were rustic and a bit quirky (from being 100? years old), but great lodging anyway, and if you share a big cottage with multiple people, the per-person price is excellent (in April our 8-person cottage was only ~$40 a head). More modern lodging is also available. Season's restaurant has excellent fine-dining food and well-trained, professional waitstaff, and a yummy breakfast buffet comes free with most of the lodging options. HLI has *MANY* activities on-site for all ages, with a highlight being the activities on their big lake. (The only activities disappointment was that the pool wasn't yet open for the season.) There are also plenty of off-site activities not far away. ALL of the staff were very kind and accommodating, especially Don at the front desk, who worked with me for a year helping me put the reunion together; he went many extra miles for us! One thing that happened really impressed all of us. We wanted to have a fire in the community fire pit, so we went to the office hoping they'd have firewood for sale so we wouldn't have to go out to a store. Instead, Don told us to go back out and have fun and had a staff member bring us all the free firewood we wanted, AND she built and lit the fire for us, and checked on us later to make sure we were still happy with the fire! It's really hard for me to imagine someone being disappointed with the HLI experience, exept for people looking for a "city" kind of experience. If country/nature is your thing, this is your place! And city (Asheville) is pretty accessible, too, only 35-40 minutes away.

Very much enjoyed the experience. It was quiet, relaxing, and situated on beautiful grounds. The restaurant was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. The shops and eateries of Hendersonville were only minutes away too. Looking forward to a return visit.
