A fantastic hotel that far exceeded our expectations. Beautifully situated on a cliff overlooking the ocean, surrounded by a stunning and immaculately maintained garden in the charming little village of Caloura. A great base for exploring every corner of the island. As soon as you step inside the hotel, you’re greeted by the lovely and very helpful reception staff, along with a pleasant scent wafting through the lobby and all the corridors. At our request, we were given a different room, one that met our expectations in terms of location and the view from the balcony. Thanks to this, we were able to enjoy a stunning view of the ocean every day. Every room has a balcony where you can relax. The views from the balcony vary depending on the location and floor; the higher up you are, the better the view. Our room was very spacious with a huge and comfortable 200x200 cm bed, as well as an additional chaise longue and a workspace. The light décor and pastel colours create a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. The room also comes with bathrobes and slippers. There is a spacious bathroom, which also features a bidet. It is spotlessly clean. The hotel staff clean the rooms daily and replace the towels with fresh ones. The WiFi works very well. The hotel also has a large swimming pool deep enough for comfortable swimming, relaxation areas in the garden and a bar. Right next to the hotel there are also natural rock pools, and a short walk away is a beach with volcanic sand. The hotel also has plenty of free parking spaces. There are several really good restaurants in the village and within a few minutes’ drive.

The only thing we would suggest improving is the quality of the breakfasts. For a hotel of this standard, they could be a little better and offer more variety in terms of local produce, such as cheeses (for which the island is famous), more fruit, cold meats, or local sweet treats. Unfortunately, it often happened that hot dishes were served cold, and after 9 am some dishes were no longer available or there were only leftovers, which sometimes didn’t look very appetising. For a longer stay (we spent 9 nights at the hotel), this matters. I would also suggest an additional coffee machine. With such a large number of tables and guests in the restaurant, one is really not enough. Furthermore, condiments such as ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard should be freely available.

Breakfast was a bit basic

There were amazing views everywhere! The rooms were spotless and absolutely pristine including the bathrooms. Great staff and great service at the front desk and the snack bar. Wonderful fragrance inside the hotel.

Viel zu kalt im Restaurant und Frühstücksraum. Zuwenig Steckdosen im Zimmer. Altes Badezimmer mit Badewanne und minderwertigen Handtücher.

Alles is echt verouderd met soms ook beschadigde en zeer povere items. Versleten matras met een put. Echt niet comfortabel. Ook geen comfortabele kussens. Veel basic producten: toiletgerief, handdoeken, ligstoelen, parasols... Geen 4 sterren vibe. Basis ontbijtbuffet. Oké maar niets bijzonder. Je moet door de fitness om in en uit de sauna te gaan. Wat vreemd als je tussendoor naar het zwembad wenst. Restaurant is duur in vergelijking met betere restaurants in de regio.
