Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel

As a couple we had 5 nights at this hotel. Room is modern and clearly recently renovated. Location right on the beach is lovely. We paid a bit extra for a sea view and it's lovely to wake hearing the waves so close each morning. Breakfast has a large selection of choices although hot options are a little tepid but cannot fault the variety of choice. On my birthday we had a breakfast table right on the sand which was very special. Pool is nice and complementary beach towels are a nice touch. No spa on site but they do promote the spa at the Savoy along the road. This is quite pricey. I would recommend the Boathouse Spa short walk away. The boathouse, the beach shack and La Plague are nice locations to have both a drink off the beach and the evening. The gecko bar at Savoy hotel is set back a little and beware, their prices do not include tax or service so add 25% to their listed prices. Limited evening entertainment in Beau Vallon and be aware that most places don't serve food after 9

I had gone to Coral Strands in seychelles for my first trip with my wife. It was a beautiful experience and the hotel waa fabulous. The rooms were amazing and clean, the hotel staff was extremely polite and helpful. From our check in to check out, everything was taken care off by the hotel staff in a seamless and a smooth manner. I want to compliment chef Mohit who i used to meet during my breakfast. He is am extremely great chef. Cooks lovely food and he is extremely helpful. The breakfast that he made for us was exceptional. He gave me tips to travel in Seychelles during my stay and was very kind. The entire staff of the hotel is friendly and I would recommend highly to go to this place. Thank you so much!

We just returned from our honeymoon at the Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel, and honestly, it was perfection! We stayed for 5 nights and couldn't have picked a better spot. The location is truly unbeatable—you're literally steps from the gorgeous Beau Vallon Beach. Our room was clean, super comfortable, and waking up to that stunning ocean view every morning felt like a dream. The hotel itself is great, but what made our trip unforgettable was the incredible hospitality from Mr. Shihan, the Guest Relations Manager. When he found out we were newlyweds and that I don't drink, he immediately made our stay feel so personal. Instead of the usual wine, he surprised us with a complimentary bottle of premium non-alcoholic sparkling wine sent right to our room. That small, thoughtful gesture showed he was genuinely listening and paying attention—it made us feel truly celebrated. The absolute highlight was the complimentary dinner he arranged for us. It was more than just a meal; it was a perfect, romantic experience. Imagine a beautifully set, candlelit table, delicious food, and an atmosphere that made us feel like we had the whole world to ourselves. It’s a honeymoon memory we’ll cherish forever. Mr. Shihan was constantly checking in with a warm smile, always ready with helpful local tips, and made sure every moment of our stay was smooth and happy. A truly nightmarish experience — and everyone felt the same. The property was undergoing internal renovation work, so it was extremely dirty and noisy. The common areas are old and poorly maintained. We made several requests and were always told NO. We arrived at 4:30 PM and the room still wasn’t ready, we received no help with our luggage, and the shower service before leaving was a disaster!

Our stay was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The hotel is spotless, the service is outstanding, and the overall atmosphere is truly enjoyable. A special mention goes to Shihan, who was exceptional throughout our entire stay. Always present, always smiling, and always ready to help — even with our smallest questions. He took care of us with incredible attention, always at the right moment and always with genuine kindness. We were pretty demanding (and sometimes a bit annoying 😅), but he remained flawless from beginning to end. I genuinely recommend that everyone go through him — he really makes a difference, and he’s a big reason why we loved our stay so much. We’ll definitely be coming back, because we truly adored the experience.

We had a lovely view of the ocean from our room. The amenities were great. The room and bathroom were very clean and maintained well. The hotel is very well located with an opening to the beach; giving a feel of a private beach. It is close enough to Victoria.

Great location with modern, refurbished rooms. I was there during their Sri Lankan night supporting recent cyclone victims a lovely initiative and a great atmosphere. The hotel sits right on the beach, the staff were genuinely friendly, and everything was spotless throughout my stay. Most likely the best value for money in Beau Vallon.

The hotel was under renovation, so there was constant noise, making it impossible to relax. They failed to inform us about the renovations in advance. Had we known, we would have never booked this hotel. Furthermore, the WiFi connection was terrible.

Do not stay here. We booked to stay at this hotel for our anniversary and paid to upgrade our rooms to the signature ocean room. Check in process is absolute chaos, hope you aren't checking in at the same time as anyone else otherwise you could be waiting 45 mins to check in. Eventually we were asked to the check in desk where we were told by the manager that our booking had been cancelled. This was not the case as we had not received any communication regarding this and in fact had received communication from the hotel 3 days before check in advising that they are looking forward to welcoming us to the hotel. Even the day before the day of check in we were in communication with the hotel to look at booking a trip through them. At no point were we advised that our booking had been cancelled. The manager (only after reading the booking.com messages between us and the hotel) then told us the issue was because they were still actually building the rooms that they had advertised and we had booked so they didn't have anywhere for us to stay. Not sure how they can advertise rooms for people to book that are not even finished. The manager then said they have sorted us accommodation in a nearby hotel saying we would stay in a "private chalet" and the hotel would cover all the extra costs. This made it feel like we would be staying at an equivalent 4* hotel. This was not true at all we were transferred to a 3* hotel. The only nice staff here are the porters and waiter staff.
