Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel

Wonderful stay that allowed work and yet enjoy the lovely lovely beach front during the weekend!!! Great view, great location, lovely people!!!

terrible experience. would never recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. the hotel is under CONSTRUCTION, noise and dirt everywhere. 2 desks under low ceiling instead of proper reception, as if you are entering from the back door. the way to the building and room — through ANOTHER HOTEL ROOM on the 1st floor by the pool and then along some utility rooms — can you imagine that? bad interior design at the freshly renewed room: artificial materials, fake plastic travertine on the walls, cold white lighting — impossible to feel comfortable in the room. the only advantage — location right by the ocean, but the beach itself is narrow and not too clean. worst stay at Mahe (had several hotels to change). photos attached :(

Overall good but we got our rooms pretty late and we were not compensated adequately but otherwise the stay was pretty decent

Had a great stay at Coral Strand. Amazing location and staff. Special thanks Shana at the front desk who helped us out and made the stay memorable.

We stayed 3 nights. There are pros- it’s right on a beautiful beach, the staff is incredibly nice (shout out to prasanta and Ian) , the breakfast room looks out the ocean, and then renovated rooms are very nice. BUT the renovations that are ongoing really ruin the atmosphere- there are dumping grounds of furniture and supplies everywhere, a dirt path leading to a makeshift route for the elevator etc. I felt I was staying in a run down motel- but once you get to your room it is nice, albeit the rooms are kind of small and tight. The mattress was, however, horrible. Once this hotel officially finishes its renovations I can see it being a better place- check on this before you come.

Although the location of this hotel is good as it is on the beachfront and has good access to restaurants around it the downside of this hotel is the management. The check-in in and checking out process is painfully slow and when we return for our second visit we were greeted with no rooms available for us even though we had confirmed bookings. They offered to put us up in two different hotels even though we were travelling as a family. The hotels were not even located next to each other they must've been at least a 10 minutes beachfront walk which would've been absolutely hopeless in the dark..It was an absolute disgrace. It took over two hours to finally get the problem resolved so that we were all in one hotel but by that time our last evening with our family members was all lost. I always believe the honesty is the best policy and and the management at this hotel and his staff certainly did not treat their customers with honesty. They knew about the problem before we left our first visit knowing full well that we were returning four days later, but no one told us until we arrived on the evening even they were they were aware of the problem before we left after our first visit no one seemed to think that it was important to keep us informed. They did offer to give us a full refund but at 8:30 at night by this time, what did they expect to do in a foreign country with nowhere to stay? It was just a ridiculous thing to say particularly as they knew that they were very full hotels are very little vacancy anywhere else.

Location is perfect with its own beach with a very nice view. Hotel is having own 3 turtles one of them but enough should be around 60 years old

Location is the best of Mahe, beach is big and very beautiful, hotel is nice, good condition, when they finish renovations i think that will be great!

Excellent view and very clean rooms. One suggestion: a few members of the hotel staff could be more friendly in their interactions to enhance the overall guest experience.
