Great Lakes Inn

Check in was a nightmare! We had to check-in at the hotel around the corner, which was also checking in three other properties in the pouring rain. 2 people checking in about 40 people. The staff did the best they could, but who does this? Also, when we finally got to our room it was still occupied by the previous people.

The room smelled moldy and felt dirty. One of the sheets was partially wet. The lamp shades were dirty, askew and one was crushed in. The coffee maker was set up in the bathroom and also looked dirty. Don't stay here. No refund given.

We stayed at this property over the 4th of July weekend and paid $250 per night, which is extremely high given the overall condition and experience. While we didn’t expect luxury accommodations from a motel, we did expect basic cleanliness and service—which were unfortunately lacking. The room was outdated and not well maintained, with visible dirt and wear. We stayed for two nights and had to take out our own trash, as no housekeeping service was provided. That alone was disappointing, especially for the price. Additionally, the motel advertises free breakfast included with the stay, but when we inquired, we were told they don’t actually offer breakfast. Instead, we were given coupons for nearby restaurants to get a small discount—this felt misleading and unprofessional. Overall, this stay did not meet expectations and offered poor value for the price. We would not stay here again and do not recommend it to others.

The room was clean, but tired. Good location, view and value. Walk to ferry and brew pub.

The pools and hot tub I are empty . No options were given. Had to check in at another hotel? Place is old and run down. Found used coffee pod in the coffee maker so I know it wasn’t cleaned.

Same owner over multiple properties. Had to go next door hotel to check in/see front desk. Also have to go to the next door property to use a (run down, ugly, plants growing inside) pool. Property is not cared for in a professional manner. Seems short staffed and abandoned. The front desk did let us know we get into two local 'waterparks' with our stay. I took my kids to both, both were run down, broken down water slides, and excessive mold and smells. Do not recommend staying unless you have very very low expectations.

I did not like the hotel we had bugs in our room. The room was stinky, they advertised a pool and got on their website, but the didn't have neither one. I got bit but a spider in the room the water in the shower was cold it wouldn't get hot. I will not be staying there again I do not recommend this hotel to anyone

Dirty broken beds. Room never cleaned. No front desk had to go to next property. No pool had to go next door. Totally misrepresented would never go again.
