No wifi in room, bad service. Even after complain no response from reception

Great spot to crash, great sleep and convenient on road trip

It's the cheapest rate in the area, so if you don't have high expectations, it works - the lady checking people in was super nice - I did have to go to a separate location to check in, which I thought was weird - also did not have any toilet paper in my room😑 but you get what you pay for and the price was right - room I got was a bit smelly

I have stayed at this hotel a few other times and had a good experience. However, this time was different. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. When I arrived at the hotel, there was a sign on the door to check in at the hotel next door. I learned the hotel had recently been sold. I have stayed at other hotels owned by the same group, so I was disappointed to hear this hotel was now owned by them. The room itself was clean, but worn and dated. The handle on the toilet had to be held down in order to flush. The water pressure was low in shower and sink. The bed was not all that comfortable. I used the AC for most of my stay as it was pretty humid and hot outside. It seemed to make the room a little clammy. The hand towel I used never seemed to dry and the pillow always seemed a little moist. Overall, it was a decent stay for the price.

Don’t stay here! They checked me into a DIRTY ROOM… as in, not cleaned since the last person had stayed there. Bed unmade. Trash still in the wastebasket. And as I waited in the lobby for them to fix the problem, another woman was there who had been checked into a room WITH SOMEONE ELSE IN IT! They eventually put me in another room that was mediocre at best, and then, the next morning, someone threw the remains of their chicken dinner in front of my door. Gross. Although the guys working in reception were really nice, the manager was not. I tried to talk to her more than once and was told she wasn’t available and would call me. She didn’t. When I finally reached her, she said they would give me no money back despite what happened.

It’s close to the ferry dock & downtown. Other than people sitting outside of their rooms smoking, and having cigarette smoke hovering around m, it was an OK hotel.

We booked a night at the Great Lakes Inn as a cheap place to sleep before taking the ferry to Mackinac Island. When we checked in (which took place at the Thunderbird Inn immediately next door), the staff offered us a king bed at the Thunderbird rather than the two queen beds we had booked at Great Lakes. We asked which property was better and the person at the desk indicated the Thunderbird was, possibly quite significantly by the look he gave us. We had to sign a paper stating we were okay with being moved from the original property. The room was okay for what this place was - the AC was off when we came in and it was really hot, but once we turned it on, it cooled off fairly quickly. We both used the shower and the water was hot and pressure was good. I did walk around barefoot on the floor a little bit and my feet were filthy, so that was a bit disconcerting. We also had a few noise issues when we first tried to go to bed (like someone ran by knocking on doors). To sum it up, I really hope I don't have to stay here again, but it was OK all things considered.

Not a bad little spot for a weekend getaway

Had to change entire hotel along with several other guests because of bed bugs. Sheets had blood stains on every bed and some pillow cases-didn’t look like they had cleaned them. Neither t.v worked. Luckily we were only staying one night
